I am still running into a lot of snow in the norths, up to 3 feet still but the southern slopes are slicking up nicely. Been out a total of 16 hours as of today's scoreless hike. Found 4 deads so far and 9 sheds. Here are some pix thus far be back out again tomorrow.

bagged it yesterday due to 3 more inches of snow and I bought the wife a new rig... LOL

Got out today and away from the snow in this Southern facing canyone for 5 hours. Slow day for sheds but got some great scouting in an area I have never deer hunted but want too.

Found the one 4x shed in a fern patch...

Found 3 dead deer, didnt bother getting the camera out of the pack, headed back in tomorrow to get deeper into this canyon. Its a thick Mutha.. great deer sign and trails, nasty thick even during this time of the year..

Found these nice rubs too.. long tined buggar beat up these elder berry trees

    Those are some NICE rubs.

You hit up any of that area where we saw those MONSTER tracks in that cold nasty weathered day?

well, my past couple shed hunts havent produced anything too big but I've found 3 more bones, two freshy little 4's and one chewed old 4. Snows coming off pretty well now.

I was stoked tonight on my outting to find Mr. Bear's tracks! Great news for the upcoming season on the 15th. I was hoping a few would be out of their dens. I found this bears tracks tonight and decided to follow it as far as I could just to see where he was going, he was about 2 miles from my house and headed that way when I lost his tracks in the brush. Anyway, figuring he laid these tracks down either yesterday or the day before and its been really cold until yesterday...with that in mind ... the snow is much softer today ... and I still didnt even sink 1/2 the depth into the snow as he did...I weigh 190...probably 195 or 200 with all my chit on.. backpack/boots etc.. so this should be a pretty healthy bear! I watch a couple TOADS in there last fall while archery elk hunting... (rybo; up where we saw the white antlered tall narrow racked bull and his cows)

Also, I took a picture of Lake Coeur d Alene on my walk back to the quad ...just at last sunset, nice way to finish up a good scout. got a nice lay of the land in the thick stuff, covered a lot of very old skid trails, tons of sign and so much more ground to cover, there should be a nice set or two in that area.

Enjoy the pix, I have the best conditions right now.. with this warming trend we just got.. I will back out tomorrow after work.. I am getting about 3.5 hours in a night now. TGF daylight savings time kicking in..
