Been wanting to put the old woodburning stove back in the lodge for the last 4 years, but wanted to put in a rock wall & hearthstones for it first. Well, I was finally told by the owners to pull the trigger on the project, so I got everything ordered up and installed it over this past week & a half. It's my first time doing stone work, and I'm pretty happy with how it all worked out. Here's some of the product. And the progression. The near final result... I'm waiting on a couple new legs for the Castiron Stove before I get that in place. I'll throw up a few picks when we have a fire going
Thanks guys! I'm going to paint the studs I scribed in dark brown, so they don't stand out as much. It's driving me nuts
7 days, of those, 4 were half days either waiting for mortar to dry or out hunting I have 8 hrs or so into design/research.
