I bought this for mounting my JVC Enviro camcorder to my bow. Thought I'd share the information with ya'll. What I like is all the different mounting options. http://www.insanearchery.com/index.html
That's actually really cool looking. I've been on the lookout for something just like that. Might have to pick one up before fall.
Yes sir, ya can get some kit to add on, that then lets you mount it to almost any opening on your riser. I'm stoked.
Post up your review after you get it. I had the stabilizer mount type before and it shook the hell out of the camera upon string release.
I'm really interested in hearing an honest review on this as well. I noticed on both the site installation video and the testimonial video neither showed the video during a shot, not sure why they wouldn't include it. I'm curious as to the shock and potentail for damage to camera internals. I've been trying to come up with a semi-foolproof self film mounting system. I am still in the process of trying to create a forearm typed mounting sytem(for myself), figured it would be perfect as your bow arm is usually pointed towards your target. I've already bought the corded remote for my handycam that I can use for control, just need a good mounting system. Using the forearm would also eliminate the need to have bow in hand for casual filming if wanted. Also see I'm not the first to think of this. But nothing made or for sale that I can find. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6899255.html
I am praying this is the unit I have been waiting for. I did a search and found this video testing it shooting a bow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1mS_9YNvrc Obviously some shock but pretty acceptable for the ease of filming your own hunt. I would be interested to know if there would be any less shock on the riser or the above the stabilizer.
I think I'm going to go ahead and get it as well. That video didn't look bad at all, wish I'd have heard about this a couple weeks ago before ordering the gorilla arm.
How do you find it affects the balance of the bow? Do you practice with your camera on all the time? That was my qualm with that type of system. Not sure if it's justified or not.
There are some youtube videos out there. Very little camera movement is what I've been seeing. I'm looking forward to getting. Also, the customer service is awesome. Less than 2 hours after I paid with paypal, I got an email from the owner saying it had shipped and thanking me for my order. They also give you along time to try it out and if your not satisfied you can return it. Edit: I couldn't remember how long they give you. It's a 90 day trial period. Everything about this is first class.
One thing I'm going to add it some limbsaver to help with the vibration. There are so many different ways to mount it. I can't wait to get it. I'll post some pictures and do a review.
Here is another video on the Insane Archery Camera Mount. Dave Thomas from BHPTV demonstrates it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xixmLx4f3P8
I just ordered mine this morning and already have a personal email saying it was shipped. So far I see they are taking customer service seriously. Along with Iowa bowhunter I will give my opinion. I did order the riser mount as well just in case I like it there better.
I ordered mine yesterday at 4:50pm, had an email at 5:10pm saying it has shipped. I'm more than likely not going to be able to use my stabilizer mount as my string supressor is already there, PSE stinger doesn't have the rear mounting hole. I'll be using mine with a Sony Handycam. Should have some video over the weekend, not sure where they ship from but email said Friday or Saturday at the latest.
Pretty cool. Can't wait to see everyone's video and reviews of this, as we're JUST getting into filming a bit and I can see this being a neat different point of view to edit into the final film... or maybe even something neat on days I don't want to take the whole filming setup with me.
Hello, and thank you all for your interest in the InsaneArchery Camera Bow Mount. If you'd like to see a video I did using the mount, go to YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoY6vt0Wkj8. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks again for you comment and review. I really enjoy the forum.
