Found a few with some of our little future hunting buddy. Still early but some are dropping for sure. Few sheds and a dead. My pup found the dead head and one of the sheds. The one big one my buddy found from a monster buck that ghosted us all season (pic in velvet). At least we know he isnt dead. Also the big wide one (Lt. Dan @Sota named him) made it out alive as well.
A couple weeks ago, I was talking to a guy that just bought a shed hunting pup ( 7 months old ) for $4000. The pup just had a little training due to it's age. He said he could have bought a 2–3 year old dog that was really well trained for $20,000. To me that is just crazy but more power to you if that is what you want to do.
25 years ago when I started shed hunting, I had a pup that I trained to find sheds. Fact... he is still going strong as of today. Safe to say we have put 1,ooo's...

Didn't see one started yet so figured I would since I'm out today.

#1 for the year!

Nice getting the first one on the board. I saw roughly 10 bucks still holding both, half dozen with 1 side and about 100 antler less deer, whether they were bucks or does I don't know.

Also saw over 100 pheasants today.

3.5 miles in 1-3' of snow is enough for day 1. I'm beat!
