A couple weeks ago, I was talking to a guy that just bought a shed hunting pup ( 7 months old ) for $4000. The pup just had a little training due to it's age. He said he could have bought a 2–3 year old dog that was really well trained for $20,000. To me that is just crazy but more power to you if that is what you want to do.

25 years ago when I started shed hunting, I had a pup that I trained to find sheds. Fact... he is still going strong as of today. Safe to say we have put 1,ooo's of miles on looking for sheds over the years. Granted over the years raising and feeding him, I have spent well over $20,000 on him. He was worth every cent of it and the best shed hunting hound bar none. When "this old dog" gets too old to tromp, I will have great memories of time spent with him.

5th picture down, there are 3 sheds in it. We ended up with 13 sheds and just a perfect day for looking.

That’s a killer day! I want to start covering some ground, most bucks are holding here in SW Pa and SE Ohio.
