My prediction – Midwest deer are going to be on their feet and moving tomorrow.

Here in the Midwest we have been hit with some nasty cold wet weather with high winds the last few days. According to the latest weather report, this crap is going to blow out of here (Wisconsin) around 9:00am tomorrow. The barometric pressure will be on the rise and my hope is the deer have been bedding a lot for the last couple of days and that they will be on their feet tomorrow morning when the precipitation finally stops. Sounds to me like it has the making of a good day.

Don't know about you, but I am planning on sitting from sunrise to sunset tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Hopefully! I got up at 3am just to see that it was still raining and it wasn't going to let up anytime soon. Now I'm watching the leaves blow off the trees in the 25 mph winds.

It will be interesting to see how many hunters show up tomorrow. I can't be the only one chomping at the bit.

I thought the same thing 2 weeks ago when we had 3 days of rain totaling 6.5 inches that ended Friday night. It wasn't so great.:(

Of course being 2 weeks later into the season and closer to November should help. I'll be out there, but not all day.:)

Maybe the moon phase is better this time?? :p

There's a big trail run in the park on Sunday. That whole side of the park will be closed to hunting. I was hoping the deer would swim across the river to the other side (where I'd be hunting), but with all this rain, the deer might not risk swimming across it. They're probably smarter than Justin and Mike who will somehow be trying to wade/swim across the overflowing creek where they hunt.

I sure hope you're right. Couldn't come at a better timing for me. I'll get home from school too late to hunt tonight but you bet I'll be out there tomorrow morning/evening and the same on Sunday.

I've decided to finally hunt a spot tomorrow that I have not set foot on since July. The wind will be correct for that stand and will be wrong for the place I intended to hunt at. I question if it is a week too early, but nothing guarantees the wind will be right next weekend for this spot so I might as well seize the opportunity tomorrow.

I struggled too, but successfully stayed out of this property hoping for a situation like tomorrow. Hope it works out.

I'll be out tomorrow. It has been wet and nasty here in NW Mo for 3-4 days. Tomorrow might be the day I get lucky. Never have taken an October buck. Never seen a shooter in October to be exact.

Best of luck! Can't wait to hear how it goes.

IMO, it's a tad too early for the all day thing - which I love during the November month.

But as long as the wind is good, you won't hurt a thing.

    Take some pictures!

The reason I want to hunt all day tomorrow is that I am concerned (and think you guys should be as well) that there is the potential for a lot of mid day movement. Since it will still be raining till ~9:00am I question if the deer will be on their feet at first light. I think you might be looking at some significant 10am-2pm movement and then of course at dusk. That is my thinking anyway.

Here is the location I am hunting tomorrow with access route and deer movement I have witnessed in the past. Hope it works out.

What if the deer are out in that field feeding when you walk in for the morning hunt in the dark?

I am hoping this is unlikly due to it still raining in the morning before sunrise. Also, that field I will be walking through is mosly wheat so it is not a great food sounce. The field to the south west is all corn. I am not sure what is planted to the north west.

Maybe I should walk a little bit close to the tree line and follow that edge up to prevent this is there are deer in that field.

Brad, I'll be out there just before the rain stops and sitting the entire day! I can't wait!
