Took a couple furs over to my taxidermist today to work up, including my black coyote I caught yesterday (see off-season forum if you want to see pics of him) and was able to bring my antelope home with me.

He's absolutely stunning... these pics do him NO justice whatsoever; I'm really happy with how he turned out. Hate to say you go on a trip JUST for a mount, but that's in reality what I did. I'd seen my buddy Matt's after his trip out there, and never really had given a thought about an antelope trip -- until I saw how pretty his mount was. I'm not saying we're not enjoying the meat; we are. In fact, Dad wants me to call him every time we throw on more antelope steaks on the grill. But... this is really what I was after when I plunked down the money.

Here he was in the field...

and here he is on my wall...

I was amazed at how black his horns came out. I inquired if they painted or touched them up at all, and was told that nothing was done to them at all; that's simply how they cleaned up after boiling them to get the inner sheath out for mounting.

He's on a Joe Coombs form, as is every one of my big-game animals... Highly recommend those to all my friends.

Looks real nice. Is that supposed to be a corner mount?

Greg - Goat mount looks great, congrats!

With that said.................I'm really jealous of your cat mount! That's pretty cool, I'd love a close up pic of that one too if you don't mind.

I was actually just talking with the wife the other day asking if I'm "allowed" to mount a cat if I get lucky enough to call one in this winter. My Foxpro Spitfire showed up today and I've got some good info on a few cats from locals, I'm really going to try hard to get on one this winter.

Rob, no it's a wall pedestal... meant to have a bit of that "unfinished" look where his body just disappears into air like that.

Thanks guys... Matt, I need to be heading out the door soon but I'll try to post some pics of the cat later.
