Kinda funny my wife pulled out a sheet of paper last night that she wrote out all the monthly bills and expenses on. Below the total she wrote down my monthly gross then circled the surplus total left over. She showed me that and as I pondered it and finished my beer I said are you sure you won't do anal? We sure had a good laugh at that.

Maybe so but at least he didn't do quid pro quo.... Oh wait
At least he didn't use a pen to pass more orders than any other sitting pres.... Hmmm
Well we haven't been at war in 4 years he didn't bomb anyone.... Dammmit
    At least he isn't orange.

Just remember folks you hated Trump because all the stuff he said let's unpack that. He said stuff that we could be critical about because he held hours of press conferences EVERYDAY. During which he didn't NOT use a teleprompter and dealt with 20-30 people that hated him asking questions designed to trip him up for fodder for CNN and other BS networks. He worked crazy hrs and never had a "handler". I don't care what CNN tells you or what you think of him. Between Trump and Biden there was no real choice.
Your "choice" cant even speak. Let alone run this country. They refuse to even have a state of the union due to his mental weakness.

Yeah, student loan debt forgiveness is stupid. We should just keep shelling out money for corporate welfare in a capitalist society. Like if corporations cannot manage themselves properly they should get forgiveness but the average work working citizen that is just trying to make it or do better for themselves should foot the bill for corporations. Fun fact, for the average American making $50k a year, $4k goes to corporate welfare and $36 goes to welfare for people trying to feed themselves and children.

But yeah, $10k in student loan forgiveness. Total communism or socialism.

Neither the student loan borrowers or the corporations should receive a bailout from the taxpayers.

I don't believe it's really his position, but yes, I am 1000000% against ANY level of student loan forgiveness.

Why can't I have 10K towards the prinicple of my mortgage too?

I also took that loan out knowing I would have to pay it back with interest over time

If I can't afford my mortgage and it is holding me back I am told I am living beyond my means. Yet when the same is applied towards student loan debt it is somehow BS and they should get relief.

Hell, lets just cancel every American and foreign inhabitants' debt and start from scratch. Nobody owes anyone anything. Everything is free from now on, it will be a Utopian's dream I tell ya.

We can cap pricing on consumer needs and then gove consumers a monthly allowance to get what they need, but only what they need.

Nobody will ever live beyond their means again.

most "corporate welfare" is not actually money sent to corporations but is tax breaks. Tax breaks lead to growth. Growth leads to jobs.
I am against any bailouts of any corporation or industry, however.

But yes, forcing me or any other taxpayer to shell out a fricking dime to whiny crybabies who have been hiding from the real world in their little safespace university playpens for 7 or 8 years "earning" useless degrees is bull$****. They signed the papers. They are adults. They can all choke on giant bags of dix. Join the military or go get a job that pays better. Get 2 jobs. Most importantly, STFU and get your hand out of my pocket, you blanking thief.

What is it that Progs say to pipefitters, and truck drivers as they crush the manufacturing industry and import millions of illegals to take the only good paying jobs that don't require an advanced degree? Oh yeah. Learn to code. So easy, a caveman miner can do it.

I am generally in favor of no student debt forgiveness but I have thought a lot about what you have stated above. Bank bailouts. Auto/Airline bailouts. Remember the bank bailouts when they honored all those upper management turds contracts even after they mismanaged their banks? Total f ups getting hundreds of thousands of dollar bonuses on the tax payers dime. Still pisses me off to this day. So yes Okie I hear your point loud and clear.

I think we should stop ALL social programs for 3 years. A dose of darwinism might wake this country up.
I'll be here for you all to demonize and show examples of extremes situations of why I'm wrong.

You must drive a General Motors product and be heavily invested with Goldman Sachs.

But sure, the hypothetical college slacker 4 year degree in basketweaving gender studies. This must be a big Tucker talking point. When I think college graduates that struggle I think of teachers mostly. People that have to have these expensive qualifications for a job that doesn't pay so well but is a necessity for a functional society.

And dude that last paragraph... Jesus tap dancing christ, drama much. Plenty of pipefitter jobs out there. And what do those same poor pipefitters and welders do once that pipeline is complete? Is there a magic spell that keeps them continuously working even though all tasks have been completed?

yes, it's called bomb the piss out of somewhere and order up a bunch of new warships.
I'm kidding. But when the Gubment unilaterally revokes permits to lay pipe (hahahahahaha) and drill (ahahahahaha) on federal land, costing tens of thousands of jobs for -0- reason...

That is a liberal myth talking point.
Average starting teacher salary (I am looking at j0b listings on indeed.com) in Indiana looks to be about $40k. Entry level.

Tulsa OK schools hiring entry level teachers at $46k. Entry. For the rest of OK, it looks like statewide they are hiring at $38k (bachelor's only) to start, up to $52k annually (without an advanced degree.) And as we all know, OK is a pretty poor state with a very low cost of living.

Per indeed.com, the average starting salary (nationally) for all 4 year degree recipients is $50k.

So it is apparent that the average starting salary of a teacher is about in line as any other starting salary with a bachelor's degree (all fields; nation-wide.) And I am not even going to get into the summers and vacations thing.

And there are state programs/options that could much more easily take care of student loan debt to teachers ( even other public servants) much better and more fairly than picking the pockets of the American taxpayer at large. States could easily create programs where teachers sign a contract where if they complete say 5 years (making up terms here) service within the same state (or even school district) they earn a bonus which can be applied (tax free) to service student loan debt/continuing education costs (similar to an HSA) -or- receive the benefit as a one-time salary bonus which is taxed at the normal income tax rate. For states with no income tax, recipients who choose to receive it as a salary bonus would be "penalized" at a nominal rate....5% or so. This could be extended out in 5 year increments with option to rollover. It encourages stability, it encourages fiscal responsibility, it helps funding of teacher pension plans (which are about to crash nationwide as boomer-aged teachers pull the plug and districts struggle to retain young teachers to continue paying into the plans.)

That seems like a winning strategy to me, at little-no cost to you or I.

All student loan forgiveness is just a bailout of the American secondary education system. You want to penalize someone, penalize them. They have been profiting off the largesse of free-to-them government money for 30 years. My annual tuition/fees (not counting R/B) when I started at Indiana U in 1998 was about $4k/yr. Now it's at $23k. How did that happen in less than 23 years? Nearly a 500% increase? Has inflation gone up 500% in 23 years? No. Then how did this happen? Easy- "Free" money from the government right in their coffers, to be paid back by the student with interest. Didn't matter how fast or how high they raised their prices, college kids kept asking, and Uncle Sam and a few predatory lenders was right there with the credit card. (The biggest of said predatory lenders is the credit card companies; but that's another topic.)

And the example above is for a STATE school. They are supposed to be non-profit. You want to see something that'll make you sick?

    https://iufoundation.iu.edu/about/financial/endowment-rankings.html

Indiana ranks 15th in the nation with a $2.5 BILLION dollar endowment fund. Look at that chart- look at allllll the state/public university systems on that chart. University of Texas has a $30+ BILLION dollar endowment. That would qualify them for 20th on the worldwide GDP list, above Estonia and Latvia, which both have a pretty good standard of living.

These schools are sitting on piles of cash bigger than most countries have in their entire economies, and they have the unmitigated gall to raise tuition? And the current regime administration wants you and I to write another check to cover down?

    No. I do not Consent.
