So you picked him because he was very professional, has a good reputation, has a local town license, and the price is reasonable. If a different fellow would have came in with a mask on simply being socially responsible and was very professional, has a good reputation, has a local town license, and the price is reasonable what would you have done?
Or what if a women came in topless, Or what if someone offered to do it for free Or what if..... Or what if...
Hey, move to Texas problem solved. Power might be an issue, but at least you can yell at someone without a mask.
No, seriously I was happy to deal with someone face to face. Especially when negotiating prices. When you know how to read people, dealing with masked people you might as well be blindfolded. The other stuff while important was just icing on the cake. They all had decent reps (online at least.) Couple of them, including the cheapest guy, have done stuff in my general area and offered to or gave references. Not going to take the cheapest bid because his eyes were shifty and not being able to see the rest of his face made it seem extra squirrely. Like extremely offputting. The other companies all did everything online (measurements and all) and while they were fine they are a bit more expensive (probably all that satellite measuring equipment.) I dunno, @Okiebob could probably chime in on that. It's gotta be instinctive- like how my dogs hate everyone in a mask. Hate them. I appreciated that the guy came out, politely asked if I wanted to talk outside or in, and once he was in if I wanted him to mask or not. It was a mutually respective and respected decision.
I am just going to start introducing myself with ridiculous made up titles. "My preferred pronoun is CornPop." YESSSSS! My plate expires this month!
I love that I get to wear a mask everywhere I go. When I go give a quote the residents can't see my meth mouth. Most have no idea I've been on a 4 day bender and am looking to make a quick buck. Joking aside I fully agree it is great to see someone face to face without a mask. We are just finishing up remodeling our house and every person that has been in here I've told them there is no need to wear a mask. I'm not a Nazi about the masks. Just try to do my part at the grocery store and other large chains with the elderly.
crap, just realized my DL expired last month. I think we get 90 days grace due to C-19 but still. I feel like a hood rat.
Yeah, same thing I say no matter what. Democrat or republican, mask or no mask, antisemitic, gay or any any ism. I'm a salesman not a peer, friend or priest. Normal cost for a not so complex, average, measurement with pitch detail is $60 complex, meaning over 90 squares are $90. I buy packages every year so I get them at around $38 and $78. I will add this, GAF a shingle manufacturer that I am classified as Master Elite with does a satellite measure for half the cost but somehow its always 3 squares more material than needed, go figure they sell shingles.
Got our garage door measured this morning and the tech got out of his truck without wearing a mask and never once questioned it when we sat down inside to talk about our options.
