We're still in beans so rarely much action after beans here. Hauling manure tonight saw handful of does.

Hold your hopes up as another beast will take his place, always happens, specialy if he was the boss. Anyways I've been fooling around with this Tapatalk and can't figure it out. I have the newest called Tapatalk pro and since I've been on the forums reading up on them all everyone seems to be ticked of at them as people who installed Tapatalk 2 are being asked to buy the Pro version and there also not being able to sign on. Go figure. I still can't get a spot that I can post on even in the forums for disscusions. $5.00 down the drain. Thanks Giving weekend up here in sunny Alberta, so hopefully the wife allows me to hunt all 3 days. Last week for the moose to be rutting too.
Good luck to all those hunting. Kool video of the doe kill Cloe!

    Another Question
What's up with this like's thing in the forums. Every time I go into my notifications to check messages I keep getting 1 or 2 likes with no message! Just curious!

You can 'like' people's posts on the forum. The thing is glitchy, though. If you receive a like, it gives you a notification but doesn't tell you who liked your post. I have seen this problem posted in the forum before, everyone has the same issue.

Had a doe walk 20 yards in front of me broadside and stop. I told myself I was going for bucks now. Let her walk and hoped she would go in front of my dads stand.

She walked by his stand at 25 yards broadside. He got her and she ran 40 yards and fell over. I got to watch the shot. My stand is 60 yards from his box stand. Really happy that he could get the monkey off his back after last year. He couldn't believe it happened that easy.

Another deer boned out and in the fridge. Boned it out for the old man while he went home to rest for work tomorrow.

Going to have to process that meat this weekend and vacuum seal it for the freezer. Excited about that. I'll still be hunting mornings and night this weekend. Fiance is gone this weekend so I'm filled up with all that is deer hunting and preparing meat. Did I say I was excited? Didn't get any pictures since it was dark.

We did eat some loin tonight. I absolutely love this time of year.

Three years ago my first year bowhunting on opening day my dad and I both shot does the first morning. Both deer were boned out and in fridge by 11:00. Tonight reminded me off that. We both said that first day will never happen again. Pretty lucky start to the year. Couldn't believe the same deer gave both of us perfect shots.

Feeling fortunate and thankful to be able to hunt in a great area for deer. Got to share the loin with a couple other friends that really enjoyed it.

Good luck to everyone this coming weekend or whenever you are able to get out.

Enjoying this team. Seems like a good group. Lets keep getting after it.

That's where its at Justin! Good times with family and friends. Thanks so much for sharing! Believe it or not I am going to try to hunt one day this coming weekend. Saturday is the only day the wind will be right for the spot I would like to hunt. Wife and kids will be at the football game so I have the afternoon evening to myself!

Boof. Just read your thread on your target buck. You have the right attitude. Don't let anyone get you upset. People read into too much on forums. Your message to the guy who killed it was sincere. Offering pictures is really cool and nice.

I'm the same thinking of others that i don't like the idea of bowhunters thinking they are better, but I didn't read that to sound that way at all. I personally prefer bowhunting but I still use guns too. Sounds like you do too.

Keep getting after it and I hope you kill some kids target buck. Ha!

He emailed me back and was really excited to see some pictures of the deer. I sent him some pics of the buck in 2012 and that is what he got most excited about. He said he thought he saw the buck in person last year, but wasn't sure and this confirmed it.

It was a useful email on both parts. I figured out where this buck was bedding (along with some others) and he told me to come over and check out the buck when it gets back from the taxi.

I definitely made a hunting buddy, its just too bad we will always be chasing the same bucks!

And congrats on your dad killing that doe! My dad and brother are duck hunters, so cherish having your pops there to archery hunt with!

Congrats to you and your dad Justin, sounds like a awsome night.

Boof didnt you have some pics of some other good bucks in that area?

Well Saturday is opening of duck season here so I think im gonna take the morning off and see if i cant get the dog out again. Probably go out to the lease after and check cams then decide if im gonna go back out to the water or up in a tree for the evening.

The bean field I hunt was just combined today. It doesn't really have anything left in it. Is this going to cause a major change in activity?

Last year this field was corn and was still pretty trashy after harvest, so the activity never really changed. This year I'm worried there just isn't enough stuble here to keep the deer coming back, though.

If it was just cut I am assuming the deer haven't been feeding on them in quite some time. I wouldn't think it would change their travel patterns if it already hasn't done so.
