Tonight, I called the owner of the property I have been promised to be able to hunt on (the one dissused in this thread http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?t=8143) and have purposely left along since July because I felt it has great potential. This property is owned by a guy I work with and know pretty well. Great guy. Anyway I called him tonight just to give him the heads up that I will be hunting there tomorrow for the first time and he tells me that he THINKS his dad gave permission to hunt there to someone else. So pretty much now I have to wait for him to check with his dad and let me know if this is still mine to hunt on. Wow, after a promise that it is mine, I get shafted. Wish I would of hunted it from opening day because I know this would not of been a problem then. I hunt one other property this guy owns so I still feel it is a privilege to hunt his property. It is his land and he can do what he wants with it. I'm pretty sure he forgot and didn't communicate this to his dad. The wind is out of the west tomorrow so I don't have a stand that has current active.(based on food source) that I can hunt with that wind. I was counting on this being my mid/late season west wind stand. So pretty much I am screwed for tomorrow. Not sure what I am going to do in the future unless he tells this other guy to take a hike because he promised it to me. I wonder how many times that guy has been out there already. My wife has been begging to go to the mall with her sister so I told her tonight she can go tomorrow. Maybe I can sneak out to a stand tomorrow night if the wind changes a bit. It just sucks I have to miss tommorow. Sunday is all mine however. The wind is out of the south which is perfect for another stand I have wanted to hunt for sometime. I'll hit her hard Sunday but it doesn't have the potential on paper as tomorrow has. Oh well. Just another excuse to find and buy a place for myself.
