As soon as he said he would be back I would have been on the phone calling him in. We made the mistake of not doing this several years ago and boy did it make for a long season of worrying.

I don't know about every state, but getting a trespass charge to stick can be difficult. That said, zero tolerance, call cops and wardens for the trespass, and claim he threatened you, and that someone stole your stuff too. Make it as difficult on him as you possibly can.

yep...I use to have a problem with them on my land. Until I had one arrested and another held at gun point till the deputy arrived. I worked my *** off to own what land I have...and I was raised not to just run all over everyone else property. I haven't had any issues in the past 9 years. Especially after holding the one at gun point.....lol. The local law told me that next time i caught them to hold them there. So I called when I seen them go in. Blocked the road and when they tried to leave....I didn't let them. I didn't get my gun out until the two morons tried to run me over. I was on the phone with the law the whole time till the deputy got there. I didn't wanna really pull my rifle out...but felt I had no choice. Once they seen the rifle they both sat down on the ground till the deputy arrived. He had their truck towed in too.

No plate number. I couldn't find his vehicle. I checked the parking lot outside of some public ground a half mile west of us and nothing was there. The only thing I can think of is that he's friends with someone local and he walked in with his vehicle parked at their house. His boot prints were all over my food plot but tracking got impossible through the timber as there was little to no snow that stuck in the woods. So I'm still not sure which way he entered our ground. My cameras to the north and to the east were untouched so I'm thinking he came from the south. There's just river and public hunting to the west and no vehicle was at the public ground. There are three homes to the south that own small 10 acres pieces that abut our ground. My assumption is he came from one of them.

My retired Vietnam green beret sniper father in law is running recon for me while I'm at work in KC these next two days. He's watching those homes and patrolling the property in my absence. If this jack wagon tries to come back he's likely to run into my FIL and that won't be pretty for said trespasser.

I'm 6'4" 265 pounds and I'm pretty certain that my stature was the only reason this guy left remotely peacefully. But let's be serious, I woulda loved to hammer fist that guy all over my food plot, but there's no way I'd escalate to violence with a man gripping his high power deer rifle. If he would have come at me then it'd be time to go on the offensive in desperation but thank The Lord that didn't happen.

Can you actually have someone put in jail for trespassing? I mean they'll load them up in hand cuffs and haul them to jail? Do you have to ask for them to be hauled to jail or otherwise its a ticket and a court date? Or is jail SOP? I can see it if they get aggressive and threaten you.
I realize some of you deal with this constantly and are feed up with people that KNOW they are in the wrong. And rightfully so, I'm just surprised they haul them to jail.

Never had an issue until this year, I prosecuted and man did it get around fast!! I haven't even had the normal amount of roadhunters that I usually have.

Jeff I think at the very least I would file a report with either the sherrif or KDWP. least then if he shows back up oyu have documentation of the first encounter.

I just love when I see Sedgwick Co. tags creeping around my place with a blaze orange hat on the dash..... some people sheesh

In most states they will go to jail it is different than a standard trespassing ticket. They can be charged with armed trespass

LOL!!! It's like they think they're being stealthy or something! We had some other Sedgwick county geniuses get caught over in Yates center this passed Saturday. Here's how they were caught. They pulled into a local BBQ joint to have lunch at the busy intersection of highway 75 and 54, with a small utility trailer pulled behind their truck and On said trailer was a large bodied deer with its head cut off and an antlerless tag on its leg. (See where this is going). A county sheriff noticed the size of the headless body on the trailer and pulled in to investigate. After noticing the penis and balls on a deer tagged as antlerless he inspected the scene further and found the bucks head in the bed of the pickup. Just plain stupid. The Woodson county sheriff that told me the details said it looked like a 2 year old 8 point. It's too bad, those guys took away a potential memory for some other law abiding hunter.

I pressed charges on the guys that I blocked in and held. They did go to jail...and I'm sure made bail. Had to go to court and such....but was no biggie for me. It cost them...lol.

I whacked one along the side of the head this summer after he came at me. I also pressed charges, cost him over $1000.00 dollars and if he comes on my land again more money and some jail time. I busted my butt to have what I own and its always the idiots that have nothing that think its ok to come on your land. I am having a tee shirt made with a cartoon of a guy getting knocked on his behind and a caption saying “catching trespassers is a full contact sport” I hate them worse than I do coyotes. Never show them any mercy.

Have any of you had retaliations from putting someone in jail? That would be a fear of mine if I went after somebody like some of you have. You're dealing with a less than decent person to start with, I'd be afraid they would fill my road with nails, tear out my gates or start my woods on fire.

I haven't...but if something like that ever was to happen. I would be one going to jail. I would beat the freakin piss out of them. I'm not a billy bad *** or a violent person either. It would not be a good survival move for them though. To be honest though, once you make a stand most of them don't, cause their the type of people who are too dang lazy to put forth the effort. I know it sounds bad...but their just good for nothing crap. At least in my eyes...lol. Just like a thief.
