Okay, so I had my sights set on a Ripcord code red, but after talking to some people I got a mixed bag of responses. Just wondering what you all found that works good, QAD, Ripcord, or Apache?

I would say 90% on here will say the Apache. That is what I will be buying very soon. I posted a thread very similar to this one at the end of last week or beginning of this week. The reviews are crazy and for $45-$55 depending on the seller, why pay $100+ for a different one that doesn't get the reviews of the Apache. Save some money and put it toward something else and have an awesome rest.

The Apache seems so big and bulky. Either way, like usual its personal preferences. I like the Code Red but I'm gonna try a QAD HDX this year. If they're set up right then they should be doing the same as each other, guiding your arrow through a trophy!

I'm currently shooting an Apache also, I like the Rip Cord but had an issue with it when it was cocked by hand that I didn't care for much.

Alright, well i'll probably look into the apache then. The price tag is an added bonus too.

I had a QAD hunter that I really liked. I almost went with that on my new bow but I found a pretty good deal on my ripcord.
I have only 2 complaints about the ripcord.
    1. It's different to cock by hand then the QAD. This isn't really a complaint now that I'm used to it.
    2. The bolts are the ripcord aren't coated. Therefore, after a day of rainy turkey hunting, the bolts have little rust spots on them. Again not a big deal, but I don't like rust.

Other than that it is flawless. It is very consistent and very quiet.

What took me away from the apache was that my entire bow is lost camo, and I didn't want some big black rest and the containment looks a little odd to me. However, if you don't care about that, I have yet to see a negative review of it.

I'll be taking a drive down to Cabela's this weekend, there is a good chance i'll be leaving with an Apache. I just want to check it out with my own eyes first.

There was a good discussion on AT the other day, Ripcord vs. QAD. Really seemed about even to me.

I'm shooting the QAD Pro and really like it, but I like the Ripcord also and think the Apache is worth a shot too.

    happy hunting, dv

The Code Red is by fare the best rest I have ever used (I took the containment arm off it) !!

Had a QAD Hunter & it broke on the first shot ! ( launcher didn't drop intime & busted the clutch thing in it ).

There seems to be alot on this apache, but personly I like small simple parts on my bow not chunky heavy stuff :)
