November 8th - Shoot my second deer of the year

Riding high! ... and then comes November 13th, this past Saturday ... #3 ... a nice doe

But Monday is a comin

As most of you know, had over $2,000 stolen out of my car a little after noon

Then same day, wife goes to vet with our favorite dog that is acting lethargic .... turns out she has some immune deficiency that is VERY rare in dogs ,, she is 4 years old ... they prescribed a high dose of steroids and chemo drug ,,, they are worried she will not live until Wednesday appointment... riding very low here ...

Then I have all these offers for anything I need to replace my stuff from all you guys on here ... back up at your generosity .... you guys rule :)

Then one gentleman sent me a PM about a bow that he was getting rid of ... a 2008 Bowtech Guardian with a Spot Hog Hunter sight and Linbdriver rest on it .. met peep .. all the fixins .. I asked him how much he wanted, and he replied, "Just your address, Tony .. Just your address" ... Well there is no way I was going to take an outfit like that for nothing ... cept this guy is one hard head :busted: ..we go back and forth and I realize that I am getting nowhere ... so I accepted his gracious offer .... I have typed this so many times as it is very hard for me to take charity, and my pride gets in the way...
I cannot tell you who this is as he wishes to remain anonymous, but I just joined the Bowtech dudes :tu: so this is a tremendous high that is mixed with one of the most humbling acts I have EVER seen anyone do for another human being

Tuesday the head of Insurance for the corporation I work at tells me to file the claim .. my insurance shouldn't go up ... so I called yesterday and filed... nervous about that, but WAY more nervous about Sophie our long-haired mini dachshund making it until Wednesday .... Rick told me he had a HSS vest (had one of those stolen from me Monday, yet another gift from my family) and he wanted to be able to help me out and send me one ... so I took him up on his offer .. what a great guy....

Today ... worried about Sophie .. her breathing just seemed funny .. went to work and had a busy day, but stressed about the favorite pet at the Sorrento home, had a productive day, albeit a worrisome one. I get home and see that Mr. Hard Head Anonymous man :D left me a PM that he had shipped it out this am and I should get it Friday ... again, I am humbled every time I think of this....

Grab Sophie and as I am walking to my car to go to the vet, Rick calls me to say that he shipped the HSS Vest and I should get it Friday ... again, humbling ...

We get to the vet, the insurance agent calls and after my $1000 deductible, I will be gettin a check for $950 ....man, with the bow and accessories and the vest already taken care of I have enough money to replace all my stuff .. and I lost almost all of it, and it not be a financial burden on my family..... very comfortable and humbling feeling .....

Then the news about Sophie  ... she is worse and a blood transfusion is here only chance, and her odds are still low .... and it would cost thousands of $ ... the vet, through tears in her eyes recommended to have her put to sleep as she was suffering, even tho it may not have looked like it (she was the sweetest, most obedient dog we have ever owned)

My wife makes the decision to have her put to sleep .. we are all crying .. pretty hard at times .. she is only 4 years old, but she was everyone's favorite. Jan asks if she could hold Sophie as they put her to sleep .... I had to get out as I could not watch that ... so they brought her in one last time and Andrew and I said our goodbyes ... or cried our goodbyes, and we left her with the vet and my wife and waited in the car .......We are gonna miss her very much... very very low ....

So here we are now ... I want to let you guys know that I am all set with everything ..... with the bow and vest and insurance .. I will be all set ...THANK YOU ALL for your generous offers .. it means more to me AND my family than you can know .... May God bless you all ten-fold for your concern!

Thank you .... just doesn't seem enough to say ..... you guys are the best :)

Glad there was a couple rays of sunshine during this storm of yours. Whoever the mystery donor is, I hope something equally great happens to you sometime soon.

Best of luck to you with your new bow, even if it is a Bowtech :D

Sorry to hear about Sophie. Me being a dog lover I can understand how tough that must be on your family. I'm glad to hear your new bow is on it's way. If you need any of those things we talked about just shoot me a pm. Enjoy your new toys and keep your head up.

I am a Harley rider, and played on a few other forums in the past... We had one brother then who was going to have to sell his cherished Road King. Folks on the list came up with 10k for him to pay the note - no payback due.

Funny, the government thinks we need them to take care of us, but folks seem to take care of each other much better. Anyway...

Sorry to hear about your dog PT. Been there and it sucks, but you have to know its better for your pup to not be in pain.

I am sorry to hear of all you are going through, but through your faith you are going to be OK...faith moves mountains. You have been generous through Andrew and probably alot of other things none of us know about, good things happen to good people.

Sorry to hear about Sophie Tony. But happy to hear that the guys have really stepped up and got you some nice gear. The Lord is really testing you right now, but I'm sure you're the kind of guy that will pass this test with flying colors and be a better man after it has all cleared up.

Compared to watching guys on here lose family memebers ... thinking of John, Gary, Justin off the top of my head with many more ... my loss of property and my dog is so little in comparison .. thanks for all the well wishes, everyone .... Looking forward to hunting with my Dad this coming week for gun season ... :)
