I went to Scotland this weekend on a camping trip , got some pictures of the deer . Although we are not aloowed to Bowhunt over here , it would be great if we could :) .

The few around the Hotel near where we camped were quite friendly .

Great pics and beautiful scenery. Are there large populations of deer in Scotland?

Why would you need to bowhunt when they're close enough to get in a chokehold? :D;)

    Great pics Dave!

Is there any hunting allowed for these animals in other areas? Reason I ask - I sure don't like seeing "the wild" lost from animals that have not been hunted for so long...similar to many National Parks in America...:(

    Thanks for the comments Fella's

There is a large Deer population in Scotland , Huge actually . There are talks at the moment going on of a planned cull , because there are too many and not enough food to go around after having a harsh Winter .

The Red Deer around the Hotel have been their for years , i've been feeding them for 5yrs . They take biscuits from my mouth , they are that tame . 500yds away though and they are totally wild and will not be approached by human , i plan on booking a stalk around this same area later in the year .

As for kilts Duke , i would have gladly given £50 to any man that had a kilt on that weekend -16 would not do your nether regions any good :) .

I did try a whisky or 2 in preparation for the Elk Camp 2010 meet up and woke with the biggest headache i have ever had , there is a lesson to be learn't their lol :p
