The snow is all but gone and the last couple days here in Va. have been gorgeous which can only mean one thing, baseball season is here! So.. what's your favorite team looking like this year. I feel like the Braves could make a push for the playoffs, but it's going to be difficult in the NL East. I just hope they send Bobby Cox off with a strong, winning season; playoffs would be huge. Also on the checklist for the Braves: Make Jason Heyward the new face of the franchise! And give him lots of dough. Dude is sick-nasty.
Yep. I'm not much of a basketball fan, so this time of year is highly anticipated. I'm a Red Sox fan, and I'm thinking they will get 90+ wins (hopefully). Rotation is strong with the addition of Lackey. Not sure how Buchholz is going to do, but he has potential. Time will tell.
Go Braves, although I think this won't be the year. Chipper (our leader) is already popping off about how we are 3 to 4 years away...great ability definatly does not make a true leader. If any of the big dogs were still here...ie Smoltz he would get an earful. Oh well, that is the beauty of spring, we all have the chance to go 162 and 0.
There's two pitchers I despise in baseball........and the Sox have to go and pick up one of 'em (Lackey).....lol. Oh well.... I hope they make the playoffs. I'm seriously considering buying the season on cable......whatever they call that.
I love Chipper to death and think he's been great for the club, but his days are limited and I've often questioned his toughness and leadership skills. I hope he stays healthy this year though.
Let me re-phrase, Watching the Indians in the late 90's early 00's was great.... Then Roids, Yea ill pass now
Although you are probably right, don't you think the Twins will give him a blank check? They will need some butts in that new stadium.
God I hope your wrong but It wouldn't surprise me. Something does tell me though that the Twins will sign him with some serious cash.
GO ROYALS! Hopefully Grienke can mow down the competition this year. I hate the Royals moves this year but since I'm 30 years old and can barely remember 85' I'm used to the losing. Sad I know.
Is Bobby Cox retiring? Good riddance ........ j/k. That guy sure won alot of ball games. I'm a Phillies fan. Winning the wold series is the goal and they have a good team, but the odds are stacked agianst it.
There's a chance now that my Twin's might be with out their closure Nathan. Torn ligament In his throwing elbow which could possibly require the Tommy John surgery.
Although it does appear to be perfect timing with the aging posada, fear not... it won't happen. The Yankees already have his replacement waiting in the wings. They have an absolute stud catcher in AAA waiting in the wings. Can't say a team like the Red Sox might not try to get him with Varitek on the way out, but the Yanks won't be involved. They are deep in the catcher position. And I do think the Twins will let him fill in his own blank check to keep him there.
The braves are looking strong this year. I hope Bobby has a good last year!! Im just glad my buddy Matt Diaz is getting solid time this year!
