I ran a 5.1 joking around after gym once a few years ago. Never really incorporated any exposivness in my workouts. Would be fun to shoot for sub 5 by this summer. That may just be a goal now.... Should I do the 50k trail run or sub 5 40? hmmm, my spring may just have gotten easier.

I ran a 4.95 back in high school as a 6'5" 200lb TE. I'm 35 pounds heavier now and still slow. Speed has never been one of my strong suits. I think if I focused my current weightlifting and training to getting faster I'd be lucky to get around 5.1.

RUN????? RUN???? You got to be kidding me. LOL In my current state of health I'm lucky to walk 40 yards. No one did 40 yard runs when I was in school....not even the pros. The 40 yard thing is a modern day test/guide. I did run the half mile around 2:03

I guess I'm a lot slower than I thought. Maybe a speed walking event fits my physical capabilities a little more.

You would need a calendar to time my 40.

I was pretty much going to say the same haha. When I was in school and playing football I was around 5.1-5.3...not bad for a lineman!

This is one athletic measurement I have never been tested on and really wish I would have been. I was pretty quick back in the day. I would hope that I could still lay down a 4.8-4.9 at nearly 40 years old. I bet my best time would have been a 4.5

I was always fast, but never had a quick first step, so I'd struggle in the 40.

If I worked out focusing solely on speed I'd like to think I could run between a 4.5-.6.

4.7-4.8 talk to me when it gets warmer.

In HS I was between 4.6-4.8 depending on how they timed the start ...every camp/combine was different.

I ran the 40 one time in HS and it was like a 4.8 hand timed from my HS basketball coach, so it was probably more like 5.0. I ran the 200m and 400m at the state level, so I was not a slow guy. I'm inclined to not really believe people when they tell me they ran a 4.6.
