Yeah, well you see, the country was not in a recession in 2002. And nowadays, war just puts us deeper into debt, since we don't make anything here anymore (damn unions...)

    War = Debt = Loans = Interest

People get rich during wars...the general public just isn't one of them.

The wars you speak of before were funded, these two we have now our un-funded. If we would have kept Clintons tax rate and defense budget, we would have zero debt right now. That being we are not in two wars and have un-funded medicare perscription drug plan, along with No Child Left Behind:nana:

I am bumping this for the sole reason that a thread concerning our economy and wars should be above a thread about trucks.

    C'mon people.

People care more about their trucks than the war, the economy (unless they can't buy a truck), the government, our elected officials, etc. That's why we are in a war, have a crappy economy, government, elected officials, etc.

I don't like getting into Iraq arguments as I both agree and disagree with the war. Matt Damon and Hollywood have done a marvelous job making the conspiracists literally foam at the mouth with possibilities however.

To compare a war in todays economy to one of the 1940s is about as far of a stretch as a guy can make. Sewing factories didn't start cranking out tanks this time around.

Im bowing out at this point. Different ideologies. I chose to not live in fear of some big brother forcing my hand and herding me along like sheep, as I don't think our government is that competent. Today's government is too busy redistributing what taxes they do collect to start wars and plan covert terrorist attacks on their own nation to benefit secret international bankers.

There is a difference between living in fear, and choosing to ask questions or seek information.

That applies to religion and government. Fear drives both.

Change of topic, but I'd counter with the former is driven by a greater being and the latter by greed (of the people and of politicians both...but mainly the people).

Again, we just view the world differently.

I thought we might see more conversation concerning christianity being a plagiarism of past sun gods. Anyone refute the information provided in the 3 part video?

No, lets hear. All the information in that video can't be accurate. There is always two sides to every story, and I enjoy hearing both sides.

Break it down for me, PT.

Matt, if The Bible were true ... play "Devil's advocate" and I think you will find my answer ... IOW, Pretend to be satan and how would you try and disprove Christ.

you see, if the Bible is true, then all non-believers are being duped by a being who is far superior in intelligence than the smarted college professor to ever live on this earth ....

So I will leave you at this .... if you don't believe in God .... ask Him if He exists and to prove it to you ...
if you DO believe in God, ask Him for HIS truth on it all...

We agree on the fact that all these religions are fear driven and filled with dogma (see my devil's advocate sentence) .... but the TRUE God is not ... it is NOT about religion ... it is about RELATIONSHIP

I guess my biggest hang up is I can't follow anything blindly. I like to seek out knowledge. If you look at anything else in life, where people follow blindly, they are ridiculed. Why is that?

Perhaps God put me here to test people's faith? I am a sacrificial lamb.

Knowledge .... Matt, what do you really KNOW that is 100% true? Most of what we say we know is just something we were told from someone who was told from someone ...and on and.on ...

I'm not sure what you mean by this? We don't know anything is 100% true?
