I will never forget the first time I took my wife to our local grocery after moving back to my hometown.... After a couple aisles of shoping she grabbed me and said, babe WTH EVERYONE has a gun.... I laughed.... yep and three more in the truck

Kinda shocked to see that Vermont is on this list. Vermont always seemed to be quite liberal.

My thoughts exactly when I read the link... I always knew AK and WY were that way, didn't know AZ was.... and would have bet my truck against VT being that way. haha

KS is a great state I can't wait to go back this fall.

On my short list of places I would like to move.

    What crime?

about the only crime you hear of is some teenager doing something stupid, the occasional dude getting arrested for dope, that kinda thing. Its a small town though. Anytime any type of major crime occurs (break in / major theft) it is always some crackhead from the city passing through and um.... they never make it far.

True story... last summer two tweekers tried to steal a truck from a farmer on the edge of town. Keys were in it so easy enough, BUT he woke to the sound of the truck. Had his wife call the cops and he hopped in the other truck with a 12ga. The kids ALMOST made it a mile. lol Mind you this dude is in his mid 70's. They found the dope heads other car up the highway aways... they had run out of gas, in the wrong town clearly :)

If Kansas was like it is today, back in 1998 when I PCSed to McConnehell/Wichita I might have liked it.

Before I left in 2002, Wichita saw the rampage of the Carr Brothers and the other quadruple homocide, and another murder or two all within 10 days or so.

I was sentenced to move back in 2009 and spent my last two years of the USAF there. Within 2 months a Wichita PD or Sheriff Deputy was shot killed across from part of McConnehell and just South of the .mil base housing.

My MT CCW was not valid in KS at that time so I had a general pissed off look/attitude on the outside and was hyperviligant most of the time.

At least when I moved back I was able to pick back up my steel tip dart league action and actually started terrorizing the dart boards.

I'm glad for the changes, but even with all of them, I'm never going to be moving back.

    Cheers,
    Oly
