I'm going on a pheasant hunt next week, my buddy who has done this hunt for the past 20 years tells me to plan on losing some arrows, so I order some plain jane flu flu's from Badger Arrow. I get an email from Paul telling me he is almost done and sends me a pic of them....

Very nice looking! I would love to get some flu flu arrows, not that nice but just some plain ones. I asked 2 bow shops and they told me to just order them, any suggestions on where the best place to get them is?

Joe, I've found that 4 fletch doesn't put enough drag on them to do much. I've started fletching mine 6 fletch and it does a much better job. To get 6 fletch you fletch it 3 fletch with a standard helical jig then flip the arrow 180 degrees in the jig and fletch it 3 fletch again. I usually space mine another inch down the shaft too; you're going to be eating feathers when you draw those back. ;)

Yeah Rob, I wanted to go with the 6 fletch... Paul suggested the 4 fletch for birds because 6 will slow it down too much. Now rabbits, I'll use 6 fletch, when the times comes I'll make them up the way you described!

Paul did me a solid with these arrows. I converted 2 compound guys, they both bought Longbows in the last month, needed arrows, got them from badger arrow, also had 2 other buddies that needed arrows and both went to Paul. So he set me up bigtime with these flu flu's, I asked for plain jane, just feathers, no cresting, cheap... he made me these! I'm stoked!

Good point. I just use mine for hares and ground sniping ptarmigan. If you're wing shooting pheasant you'll want a little more speed on 'em. Good luck w/ that! :D
