I am going to buy my 6 year old a bow and start in into our sport. I would like recommdations on a bow that can be adjustable that he can use a few years. Thanks
I believe Matthews genesis are very adjustable bows. Quick google looks like 15-30 in draw capability Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I would recommend anything with draw length adjustment that you don't need a bow press for. I believe a lot if not most these days have that. Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Take a look at the Mission Line (Mathews). great bows and extremely adjustable. My son has the Mission Craze.
That Mission Craze Pops423 refers is made for beginners. The Craze II has a draw length that ranges from 19" to 30" and an amazing draw weight ranging from 13 to 70 lbs! My dad is a big Mathews guy and he pointed me to their Mission line of bows. Really nice and not too pricey.
My boys have both been brought up on the Mathews Genesis line. My younger boy is very small and was not able to pull his older brother's Genesis at around 6 yo. 10 lbs doesn't seem like much...but he just didn't have it in him. So we picked up a Genesis Mini for him. Which has worked out really well. But the down side is the 12 lb max setting. Only lasted him 2 yrs before he had to hand it down to his sister. Keep an eye on Craigslist; these Genesis youth bows can be picked up pretty cheaply. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
My six-year-old has a Bear Brave. I picked up a Bass Pro as a Christmas present when he was four. It is very adjustable and works well. http://ww8.basspro.com/shop/en/bear-archery-brave-youth-bow-set
Hoyt Ruckus and Mathews Mission - they both go low in poundage but will last years. I want to say my Ruckus was 12-45# and the Mathews Craze I had was 15-70#. I'm not sure a little kid can pull that yet - but it'd be an option.
Yes. I would also recommend a whisker biscuit to help them with arrow control while drawing. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I second this. Less moving parts makes it easier on the kids. Drop away rests can come later when they can afford their own bows. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
We just bought our 9 year old a Mission Zone. It's just a little heavy for him but he shoots it very well.
Not sure if they are still made? My son started on a Bowtech Soldier which was a great beginner bow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
