Well, I'm just getting into the whole bow scene and dont know a great deal, so I'll ask the experts. :D

When I decided to get a bow I got my DL measured at cabellas and the kid that did it seemed to know very little and measured me at 27". After going to a more reputable local shop they measured me at 25.5" draw. By the time i went to the smaller shop I'de already bought a used Mathews that was a 27" draw.

So my question, to get a bow to actually fit me i basically have to go to a youth bow, which I'm fine with.. but will it have adequate power for hunting? And does anyone have a suggestion on any youth bows?

You should always get a bow that fits your properly; you will shoot better and it's just plain safer.

Assuming you are going to love bowhunting for life (hey why won't you) then I would get a youth model that fits... shoot a ton this year. Then next year when you grow into it, but a bow that will fit you for longer.

You don't need to spend $1000's of dollars - just get something that works... but more importantly fits you for now. Once you grow a bit more - you can find something more permanent.

    Neal is exactly right.
Look into the diamond razor edge. It has a ton of adjustment in it, from youth to adult. A guy I hunt with uses one and it's plenty enough power to hunt with. You can get them pretty cheap, he may be selling his even.

Haha, I'm done growing. But I was looking at the razor edge online and it does seem to be the most versatile.

That bow will be way to big for u. Can u get a new cam on it that will shorten it to the right size. I know that it may not be possible. The bowtech heartbreaker goes down to goes down to 22.5 in and the destroyer 350 will go down as low as 25 in. The heartbreaker is about $600 ready to shoot.
