I just bought my 9 yr old son his first compound bow and I was wondering if I could use some of my 400 spine or even some of my 340 spine arrows and cut them down to his sz or do I need to buy him some 500 or 600 spines for him

I bought my 7 year old niece a Bear Brave compound bow this Christmas and had a dozen of my arrows cut down to 21" for her. They're a 340 spine. For now they are just fine.

I have two 8-year-old boys that are shooting Diamond Edge Bows. For now, they are just using my old arrows that are not cut down. For the limited range shooting they are doing right now, my old arrows work fine. Once they can pull back enough draw weight to legally hunt, I will build them arrows specific to their needs.

Same deal here with my 8 year old...he shoots my arrows that get cut down. Works good enough until he starts hunting
