My son is buying his first bow in about a month or so, and I am not sure what to have him shoot for arrows. He is seven, and right now he is shooting a fred bear brave, so he is just using youth arrows. he is going to buy a Mission Craze. His DL and DW should be about 18-19in, and 20-25 lbs. i would like an arrow that would have some forgivness to it, so he doesn't have to buy new arrows all the time. Remember he is paying for it, not me. he has done very well saving his money thus far to puchase and outfit his first Big Boy bow. he really wants Easton Axis like Dad, but not sure if this is the best choice. any help would be great.

I would get him some of the RedHead CarbonFury's. They are on sale right now for $49.97 a dozen. They do not offer the ones I got my my kids to shoot online, but you can get the (I think) 35/55's and cut them just a tad longer and needed so that he can continue to use them as he grows. My two curtain climbers have a Edge and a Micro Midas and they can use the same arrows in both bows. They are a little heavier (around 8 gpi) than I wanted to get but my two aren't quite up to legal deer hunting draw weight right now so they don't need the speed just yet. I will double check when I get home and make sure of the size for you. Hope this helps.

Take a look at gold tip entradas . Tuff light weight so he can get some pretty good speed , and that will allow him to shoot further . That will help him with form and confidence . My wife shoots that DW and 6 gpi is around what u need to be at .

Yes yes,I agree. The 30lbs is more that sufficient for 20yds. But if you are hunting from more distance then it requires a more lbs bow. But the thing is when you are going for a hunting you never calculate the distance. I have a 50 lbs bow and it is best for any distance.
