Hello Bowhunting.com! I am an archery newbie and am excited for September in Southeast Kansas with my new Bowmadness XS! As most of you know its easy to be flooded with opinions and reviews of what the best accessories in the archery market are today. I'd like to know if you were putting together your first ready to shoot package which accessories (rest, sight, stabilizer, and quiver) would you add to your bow and why. Also, if you wouldnt mind sharing your thoughts on broadhead selection it would be much appreciated.

Well first off welcome to the forum, and as far as what i will end up with on my bow.

I am shooting a 2011 PSE Bow Madness 74 pounds. 28 inch draw length. Whisker buiscut ( soon to be an Apache Drop Away), Quicki Quiver (soon to be chameleon 5 arrow quiver), Limbsaver Stabilizer (soon to be Apache stabilizer 8 inch). One thing is for sure these bows are extremly fast and accurate.

Just ask if you have any questions.

I definitely agree mudslinger2008! These bowmadness compounds are definitely fast and seem like straight shooters, for 350$ at cabelas this weekend I couldnt pass that deal up! It sounds like youre gonna have yourself a sweet setup! That apache stabilizer looks pretty cool and was well recieved at this years ATA show. has anyone heard when it will be available at retailers?

Black should be available on the 20th, camo on 4/20.

This year I'm going with apache dropaway, apache 8" stab, trophy ridge arrow cage 1, true glow xtreme. There are so many good sight out there. It's hard to choose but there are a couple with built in range finders like the spot hogg tagged out.

    My ultimate setup:

    Mathews z7 xtreme
    Ripcord code red
    G5 Rock sight
    Axion GLX stabilizer
    T5 Spider Quiver
    Blacks Creek wrist sling

Right now i'm shooting a 425 grain easton st. epic arrow. I'm going to play with moving the weight down slightly.
The only broadhead I've used is the G5 montec but I'm going to try a few more this year as well... Muzzy, slicktrick... probably going to stay with fixed.

I used the RAGE three blade broadheads this past season but I will probably go with the two blade Rages next season.

    limb saver stabilizer 5"
Apache dropaway its so nice and smooth and quite
tru glo extreme 5 pin ( the pins are just a little bigger and easier for me to see)
tru glo quiver (works great with the rage blades the hood is hallow and it has two holders for the shaft)
ok i know that doesnt sound good but you know what i mean.lol
    I use a g5 1/8" peep
The rage 2 blade have never let me down. If you can afford it get the titanium the regular ones bend if you hit hard dirt or bone.
I reused mine with new blades and they worked great not one deer ran more then 30 yards and I killed 7 deer with my bow last season I got to go
    good luck and welcome

Sounds like you guys all shoot some awesome setups! Thanks for the input. From reading your insights, for 60$ I dont think I can go wrong with the apache drop away rest! It seems to be pretty highly regarded by everyone that owns one. and I might as well get the apache stabilizer to match, because, well it just looks pretty gnarly. Quiver and sight decisions are still to be made, but I should have it all by the end of the month and will be sure to post you guys some pics of the new stick slinger all set up.

    Right now I'm shooting:

    Hoyt Trykon

    Goldtip Velocity Pro 400s
    NAP Blood Runner 100Gr Bhs

    Currently

    Hoyt Alphamax 35
    Octane Bowsight
    NAP Capture 360 Rest
    Octane 1 piece quiver
    Octane 11.5"

Just purchased an Armortech sight to replace my current sight. The Octane sight did not hold up well over the hunting season. The Armortech from all appearances seems to be better built. I also plan to switch to a drop away rest and most likely will be going with the Apache. I've only heard good things about it.

As for broadheads and arrows, I have been shooting CX Maxima arrows with 100gr G5 Montec. I am planning an overhaul of my arrows this year to go with a heavier set-up and I will be switching to CX Maxima Hunter KV and upping to 125gr head. I plan to stick with a fixed head and want to give the NAP Hellrazors a try.

Before you spend that kind of coin, shoot one side by side with a CRX 35 and an Alphamax 35 if you can.... I really thought about a Carbon Matrix, but after shooting one side by side with an AM35 and Maxxis35 last year, and again this year comparing it to the CRX 35, I can't quite rationalize spending that kind of coin for a bow that doesn't really feel a whole lot different.

I think I just got my "perfect" set-up bow, it's a Hoyt AM35 custom built with 55-65# limbs with Z3 cams, a Hoyt/Fuse drop-away rest, and I put an Extreme RT1100 Bone Collector Sight on it in matching APG camo. Got a nice 2 piece 4 arrow Hoyt Quiver also in matching APG camo, and it shoots like a DREAM!!! This is the same as the pair of 28.5" bows I have for sale, only they are both a little short.

Figured it was time I get on here and update you guys as to the progression of my setup. So I started with the 2010 PSE Bowmadness XS. Since then I've been busy...

-TruGlo Trusite 5 pin with light and tool adjustments in apg camo
-TruFire Edge release with hybrid buckle
-Fuse Axium 6'' stabilizer in apg camo
-Fuse Ventura lite, 5 arrow, 1 piece quick detach quiver

I've got the apache drop away, G5 metapeep, slick trick 125 gr, and easton axxis ST 400 gr arrows on the way. It should all arrive next friday and I'll get on here and post some pics of the finished product.
