So for those fortunate enough to score a "trophy" this year, (whatever type & size it may be), what is it's final destination?

Are you cutting the rack off & tossing in a corner, putting it on a plaque, euro mount, shoulder mount? Or any other creative way of displaying it?

As for me, I boiled up the skull of my PA 7 pt yesterday, for a nice euro. I'm trying to come up with a way of displaying all of my skull mounts, (5 total)

My Michigan 9 is being mounted. I got the sneak mount with his ears pinned back.

My 1st buck is going to be a Euro mount.

2nd buck is going to be a shoulder mount. Fully upright with a left turn of some sort, ears either both back or one back/one forward. I'll pick out the form in a year when my taxi gets around to mounting him.

I am a cheapskate and I cannot bring myself to pay for a shoulder mount. I just can't do it...lol. So I did a euro-mount on this years buck. I am going to make a plaque for the mount with the date/time/location, and will also glue my broken arrow onto the plaque.

This years buck I'm making a plaque for the rack and hanging it on the wall. My wife says I have enough heads hanging on the wall. LOL

I am not big into mounting.

I have had only had three shoulder mounted over the years and am only displaying one of those. Its not that I don't have places to hang them...it is just that I prefer to display my photography instead.

If I ever get one 150" or over. I will mount and hang in my office. I have a place over the fireplace reserved for an elk if I ever get one over 350". It has been vacant for a long time.:D

Now to finally answer your question. I have the horns of the two bucks I killed this year in the garage on a shelf with multiple others from years' past, but no plaque nor do I plan on getting one.

Rybo, I cannot tell you yet :D I had made something for Hunsucker about a year ago for his BIG velvet buck for the mount, per his request. Greg/Mo happened to see it while hunting with Mike this season. After killing my buck I got a call from Greg extending his congrats, thank you again Greg :) and as we were chatting he ask me what my plans were for the mount. I had my head up my rear, and said I had not decided but probably a shoulder mount. He said man with the matched sheds why dont you do something similar to what I had built for Hunsucker  A light finally clicked on, and thought to myself, Dink, your stupid :D why didnt I think of this :D So with Greg sworn to secrecy, and me not telling, you will have to waight until around Feburary ;) Ill tell you this, its going to be very unique :) It would be hard to explain and get a vision anyway. sorry :p

I have 3 big ones in my closet now that need mounting, a frigerator box full of racks on plaques in the back room and deer heads in 3 states. Unless it's over 150" it will get an euro mount.

I have my PA buck euro mounted and he will go on a pedestal plaque. I haven't decided what to do with my MD buck because he won't stop running around the woods long enough to get him to the taxidermist.;)

I'm getting an upright left turn done on mine..it will eventually go in my hunting room (man cave) right now some are in my den which is also done in white-tails. The majority are up at camp, horn mounted.

Same for the 10 pt I shot this year, adding it to my basement trophy wall. Same pose, but I went for the sneak pose ears back.

I've been lucky enough to kill 2 respectable 4x4s so far this year. Still got a rifle tag left and if I'm fortunate enough to shoot another nice one I want to find a piece of old barn wood and mount all of the Europeans on it that I'll do myself. Hopefully it will turn out alright
