This is ignorant. Yes the NFL will end up shortening players lives and causing serious bodily harm, but thats the trade off for money, fame and glory. The players KNOW this, the ones sueing are greedy/already lost there money and fame and are in the negative. Those are bad personal decisions. Oh and the NFL keeps MILLIONS employed. Do you realize how many jobs start with us turning the games on every sunday? Let alone the one day the Super Bowl is on? Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
I don't think he's genuine. Especially when he says things like, "It was a good opportunity on national tv to showcase my....I mean our talents." The dude is a baller, but there are just some professional athletes who know the right things to say and when to say them, but I just have a hard time believing they really mean what they're saying. He's one of them. Plus, ESPN's obsession with him is sickening. He's very marketable to today's youth, and both sides knows that, so they milk it for everything it's worth. You obviously can blame either party for that, it just gets old.
Good post. Sad thing is the NFL has reached a point of elastic demand. It may lose a few fans here or there, but the NFL brand is so strong and popular that people are going to watch games on TV every Sunday, spend money on tickets, merchandise, etc., and continue to pour money into the sport regardless of what happens.
What the heck are you guys talking about???? The NFL is WAY safer now than ever. Also, being an NFL player doesn't even rank IP there with the most dangerous jobs, but it does rank up there in salary.. What do you guys want? I have an idea, let's turn it into touch ...no, cuz someone might push too hard.....I got it..let's do flag football .... that will fill the stadiums...lol
Salty that he took Tebows gameplan and executes it much better? Lol These guys are professional athletes they ALL believe they are great. The ones that don't preach it are about as humble as you can honestly expect.
I'm not even entirely sure why I don't like RG3. Maybe I'm racist? Who knows. Like I said though, he's an incredible athlete and player. He's going to be very good for a very long time, and I hope he has a long and healthy career. Just rubs me the wrong way. If I were to ever meet RG3 in person, I have a feeling this is how our exchange would go:
Darn you David. I hear you rockinchair. When I get a vibe on a person (see Cam Newton) like that I don't like them either.
Hey... it's only a game. I'm still the loving, caring person I've always been. LOL I agree... yes to the 2 point conversion. I don't think the Ravens had any idea on that one. Good call. I hope RG3 is OK. Hope it's no more than a bruise. He took a hard shot to the leg.
I hope RG3 is ok as well. I think he is going to be a in a lot of pain/out for a couple weeks. My guess is a slightly torn knee ligament.
Well the Bucs lost as well so that is a huge gain for the Skins as well in terms of the playoff picture. Now all we need is the Giants and Seahawks to lose.
Wow, I guess shortening lives and causing serious bodily harm is all well and good as long as you can enjoy your FANTASY football. lol. You really need to read your own post and see what a great job you did supporting my post. Does that make us both idiots?
Football Injuries are a calculated risk they choose to take when they play a pretty violent contact sport. I feel for the guys inflicted, but about as much as for the extreme skier who breaks his leg...or the skydiver who has a nasty fall. They know the risks going into it. The money side of things is even more hard to feel sorry for them (the number of guys ending up bankrupt).
LOL.. isn't that the truth. Then when you compare it to my boys in Vietnam..... well hell, it's a winner. Not only did they die but the Jane Fondas of the world rejoiced int their deaths. And all they were doing is making no money and doing what their country ask them to do. You really can't equate money to what you do in life. Jobs take you down different paths. Some are not what we wanted... it's just how it is. The NFL players choose their path. I'm sorry if they get beat to a pulp now and then.. After all, they try to do that to their opponents every week... and have since highschool. Some win, some loose... and yes, it's all about the money. I'm sorry, I don't feel sorry for any of them really. That's the business they're in.
It is real simple. If a person doesn't want to taking a beating, don't play NFL football. I am sure they would be happy making 1/100th of their salary somewhere else. I was out at the auto garage picking up my wife's car last week. All the 40-50 year old employees there had their hands beaten to hell and half of them had a hard time standing up straight due to back pains. The NFL is nothing different than tons of other professions around the world, except they get paid 100x better and get to sleep with women of various backgrounds, nearly every day of the week.
Quite a few of those mechanics getting brain damage also? I guess they probably dont get paid enough for that...
