So I recently deployed a Moultrie feeder at a new location where I don't think the deer have ever had the luxury of having that source of food and I'm just wondering how long it will take for them to get use to it going off right now I have it set for twice a day once in the morning and evening. I have not used it all that much just wondering how long will it take for then to adjusr to it because it's not real quiet when it goes off.

I believe you can find your answer in the master baiter thread :)

I would just dump a pile of feed to begin with to see if they come, once they start feeding then kick on the timer otherwise you will wast a lot of feed little at a time.

Not trying to become a master baiter buy I do like it for inventory purposes but hey if baiting wasn't allowed in my state guess what I wouldn't do it plus in most cases there is always a natural food source somewhere if u know what to look for.

It takes them a few days. Once they do, they will be regulars.

For me its a mixed bag. In Virginia during the spring and summer they don't care. In Carolina they are very wary of the feeder. I get better luck just dumping it on the ground. I think its because in NC people can hunt over feeders and they have grown to be wary. Who knows. But best thing to do is put one out with a trail cam and see how they react.

Did just that funny thing is when I went in to set it up there was a doe 30 yards or so from me as I whistled about i acted as if I didn't see her she watched me put that feeder there for the better part of 5 mins then she eased away never blowed either. That's the first time that's ever happened to me. It was pretty cool.

I have seen deer come right to the feeder eating right under it in a couple days. On another plot of land it took them almost a month. I have noticed that in different places deer act a little differently.

There is a tree on a dirt road right down from the house it looks like plowed ground the deer tracks are so many eating the small seeds it drops. I have the same kind of tree on my place not quite a mile down the road and the deer don't touch it.

My point being, is that deer in different areas respond differently.

Not exactly 2 days but pretty darn close man I'm surprised this girl showed up to party. I think this is the same doe that watched me put this feeder in motion at a girl now bring your boyfriend next time. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
