Yeah no kidding. It has been all over the news that Cardinal ticket sales have soared since the "Base Brawl", and the game was FSN Midwest highest rated Cardinal game.

Bad news for cards fans if they need Brandon Phillips and his comments to make their team play with passion.

Ya'll wouldn't be so disappointed if you just became Yankee fans. You're going to get a good showing most all the time.LOL True... it may be juiced... but it'll be a good showing.

I think the Cardinals will have a short playoff run, if they even make it.

The thing that could help them, is I don't really see a team in the NL that seems capable of really dominating. The Phillies would be tough with Halladay, Hamels, and Oswalt, but they still sit in 2nd place for now.

So....if you were pitching in the majors you would probably be spending a lot of time in AAA.

You obviously don't follow the Cardinals. There are a lot of guys on the team that are sick of Ryan's ****. Not to mention that he pretty much sucks.

As far as Rolen goes, (like someone else said) I'm just suprised he was not currently on the DL and was able to shove a couple guys in this brawl. If anyone in the game is a b**** it is Rolen......and Chipper Jones.

Do all Cardinal fans despise Chipper? My hatred goes back to the '96 NLCS......throw Javy Lopez into that group too.

Johnson City's not AAA (Which accentuates my point).

I don't care who the player is. On-the-field antics like Carpenter pulled the other night are cancerous. If I'm the coach, I don't tolerate it. If Ryan's not giving 100%, he's not on the field for me. If he IS giving 100%, I'll not tolerate a player insinuating he isn't (calling him out, on the field). No place for it.

I said earlier, I could live with the tunnel conversation. That's man-to-man, and they're both big boys. The other incident was horse-****.

I don't necessarily disagree but on the flip side,I like my stars taking a leadership role. Was what he did being a leader or an elitist? Ryan needed/needs some leadership.

Answer me this,if Pujols had done the same to Ryan, would you still be upset about what he did?

Or is it in your opinion a trend from Carpenter? If so,I can't say that I have noticed it.I watch a lot of Cardinal games. It is a local channel (Fox Sports)and I catch a lot of pre game and post game stuff and I haven't noticed it much.Maybe a little lately but not a pattern.Maybe I am wrong.

Wouldn't matter, to me, who did it. It's still horse-****.

People mock what they don't understand. I'm not surprised of your review, David.

This is the first incident I have ever seen from Chris Carpenter since he's been with the Cardinals. I have no problem with a leader of the team calling someone out after he has continously screwed up. No problem whatsoever. If you polled the Cardinals club house I'm sure the majority were on Carps side. There comes a point where you get sick of stupid antics from someone that doesn't seem to care at all on how they are preforming. I don't know......guess I don't get it.

I'm all for letting the team leaders (don't know if Carpenter is one, or not) handle a lot of team issues. I just don't think there's EVER a time to show up one of your own teammates, publicly. Take him in the locker room and whip his ass, if that's what it takes. But, what happened the other night was horse-****.

Would it be OK if he started chastising any player who made an error behind him? Where do you draw the line? Scream at them for not getting a bunt down? Striking out? Missing a cutoff man?

I see your point. I really do. Carp is a leader on the team and I really feel his frustration of a highly talented team that is performing poorly got the best of him. The more I think about it the more I think it's wrong.
