Doesn't really look like a rub to me. Looks like maybe the bark is just falling off. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
LOL,...its definitely a buck, there is actually a tree on the other side of the trail with the bark torn off, but its only 2 or 3 inches round. Theres also a very large scrape within 10 feet of this tree, just never seen a tree that big rubbed. The club on the oppisite side of the river(creek) "claims" to be 150" or bigger,...one of their freaks may have crossed the water,..lol Gotta say I pumped about next year
Hate to bust your bubble but I highly doubt that is a rub. Looks more like something possibly ate the bark off the tree. Did you have a harsh winter?
I'd be excited about the large rub, but not as excited as the rub line. If it's on a ridge, he may be bedding off the ridge and could be a perfect ambush spot to slip in near his bedroom and take him out.
Its a pine tree and that's not a buck rub. Its not uncommon for that type of pine to lose its outer bark. You can literally flick it off with your finger. If it was a rub id think the under bark would be a much lighter color as well as look more frayed.
Doesn't really look like a deer rub to me. There was a whole line of rubs like this where I hunted last fall. Biggest buck I saw was only a tall, narrow 150". Could've been his I guess but it might have been a better buck too. I didn't hunt the rub line much because I needed to shoot a doe first. It was annoying enough to let the 150-incher walk. That is definitely a rub. I have had lots of rubs that size on our property. Definitely a big buck making it. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
