What's your rules of engagement this season?

I plan on taking the first doe and little buck(tender meat:rock: ) that walk by my stand to fill the freezer.

Then I'm gonna be looking for a nice buck until the rut is over.

After that depending how I do I might even go after a few more to make sure the freezer is packed nice and tight ;)

1st doe that offers a shot.

Any buck that tickles my fancy. Shooting for 130+, but we'll see...

First 1.5 year old or older doe gets an arrow, depending on the property and situation the second might as well. The first buck that makes me shutter will get an arrow. After that I'm holding onto my last doe tag for late season or a super plus size lady.

I'd be happy to take a couple does early on, and like Fitz I want to set my goals for a 130+, but if a buck walks out that I want to shoot he's getting shot. Hesitation cost me last year on a nice buck that I wish I would have taken.

I have a couple of decent bucks still in velvet last week....would love to kill one in velvet. But I won't be picky if a fat doe walks out.

On public land its the first deer that walks by gets an arrow.

On my lease first doe or first buck that meets the minimum requirements per the bylaws.

My first rule this season is to not get poison ivy on my dong. Second rule is to not have it happen twice.

Chasing a couple big boys, but the does will fill the freezer. One on the ground early takes the heat off.

Looking to arrow the 1st doe bye then hang on till I can get a mature doe. Need meat for the Son & daughter's freezer. There both empty and they keep raiding dads for his moose meat that I have left. As I said my freezer is almost done too. Then the 1st 130 buck that walks buy will die. Then I'll hold out like always for a 170 or better. I'm lucky enough to be able to get 2 bucks tags where I live so that's a blessing!

Im going to take the first mature doe that comes by. The buck has to net better than 140 for me to shoot this year. We have been doing pretty good managing our farms. We try to make sure the buck qualifies for the ohio buckeye big buck.

Seeing as I have never killed a deer my plan right now is to try and wait it out for a buck as my first. But I love deer meet so if I don't have anything by early November I will take a doe. I have 3 tags hope to fill all 3.1 bow buck, 1 bow doe and 1 rifle buck. This is my first real season for deer hunting so I will be happy to just get 1 buck.

Going to tag a doe or 2 early, then will sit and wait for a nice buck to walk by. there are a few younger bucks that i may have to shot if my targets don't show up.

Seeing as I already bought one bonus doe tag (we have unlimited here), I'm going to put an arrow in the first doe that walks by. Seeing how there's a nice buck on the property this year (130ish), I'll hold out for him, and may arrow a second doe before that. Of course, this is all theoretical as I haven't killed a deer in a very long time. I'm breaking the drought this year though... consider yourself informed! lol

I'm on earn-a-buck property, so first I need to kill an antlerless deer. Doe, doe fawn or even a button buck. I prefer an adult doe to a doe fawn and a doe fawn over a button buck. But if a button buck is all that shows up, he'll be in very real trouble. :(

I don't think my buck bar will be as high this year. I get tired of passing up fat 2.5 year bucks in hopes of something bigger strolling by. I think I said that last year though and I still did it. We'll see.
