    You go heavy until the drop becomes to much. Equation per drop.
    .5*32.2*12*(X*3/V)^2/2
    X= distance yards
    V = speed Feet per second
    Calculates the drop in inches
    It is a little more complicated since the arrow starts on an up angle.

    There is also frictional loss...but seeing as both those are constants in any scenario they can be ruled out for the sake of determining drop.
