Grinds aren't bad. I've also tried a similar one but can't remember the name. I'm 7 years dip free so....no skoal straight for me. If I eat in the stand I prefer apples and jerkey.
I'm tobacco dip free about as long. However, once I started working around dippers, the old cravings came back. That's when I found Bac-Off. Non tobacco chew. Perfect solution to the dilemma I was in. Sent from my 5059S using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Some wolf snuf pouches because they last a while some water and some jerky in your pocket your all Set to go don't forget your bow lol Rebel
Just leave the dentures at home? My father and I had a talk about smoking, drinking and chasing women. He said you can smoke and drink when you are too old to chase women. Maybe one of these days.
That's the one... Bac off. It wasn't bad at all. Weird thing is after all this time I still occasionally dream about dip. Those cravings also hit at the weirdest times. I usually have a bag of sunflower seeds close by and cravings pass quickly.
I eat little debby while on the stand, Nutra grain bars, and PB&J for the all day sits. I have Grizzly wintergreen long cut too of course. So hard to quit. the Bac-off wintergreen is decent. I quit for a week using the patch and the bac-off. Just need to be motivated again to quit.
I'm glad you brought this up, I hate being the Debbie Downer. This said , Guys my Father had mouth cancer. This landed me in A cancer hospital visiting. OMG!!!!! Every single pre teen or teen should have to take a mandatory walk through at a cancer hospital. The things I saw were permanently burned into my brain. I had nightmares. The horrible disfigurement done trying to save people. Men having to have direct tube to stomach feeding. No more actual food for them. Half their faces cut away. Plastic noses... Those are the things I haven't blocked from my memory. Ps..due to smoking in the end pancreatic cancer got him.
Followed your recommendation.....I am on day two without dip now. Cold turkey....Effing brutal!!!!!! I feel like picking up a mother ****** and hitting other mother fuckers with said mother ******.
who knew nic fits turns one into Samuel Jackson? congrats SS, stick with it. Try the patch with Grinds or mint snuff. Or sunflower seeds. The oral fixation (insert obligatory joke here) is every bit a hard habit to break as the nicotine.
I tried to quit, my wife said hey A-hole go to town and buy a tin. Evidently the nicotine withdrawal made me a little more jerky than normal.
I haven't had a dip in 3 weeks... Almost guaranteed I will be buying some soon. Being in the stand with a dip of wintergreen is something that can't be beat. I can't believe how many people bring food/drink to their stands. I'm no scent/noise nazi but I've just never brought things to eat while I'm hunting. A bottle of water is all I need for 4 hour sits. All day sits I may being some jerky or peanut butter crackers.
Go to doctor and get Chantix. Insurance pays for it and I found it worked for smoking. You have to use nicotine product for 2 weeks then quit. Only side effect I found was crazy dreams!!!! It was real off the wall **** and almost every night. It worked for me. I still have an occasional cigar but the habit part of it is gone. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I can't believe you can pull off an all day sit with only jerky or crackers. I can't go 4 hours without eating something at least a little hardy and there's always the possibility of having to get down and take a diarrhea
My go-to snacks as of recently have been a mix of granola and nuts and stuff in a gallon sized ziplock bag. Basically a home made trail mix. I occasionally unwrap some breakfast bars/biscuits at the camp and throw them in the bag too. This helps with keeping things quiet. Fruit is always good too and of course can never forget the jerky. I just always make sure to get rid of all the noisy wrappers/packaging while still at the camp. I've been busted before from opening up a snack and I felt like a chubby jerk afterwards...
I agree! I'll sit all day (12 hours) for a week during the rut, and I can't imagine going that long without something substantial to eat. I would be one miserable MFer if I didn't eat. Stomach growling all that time? No thanks.
I’m seizure prone, so no Chantix for me. One week in....doing better, cravings still suck, not as bad though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
