Since I didn't draw a Minnesota bear tag I won't be bear hunting for the 1st time since 1994. So Instead what I'll be looking forward to Is while I'm sitting at bear camp sipping a cold one and also having the honors of camp ***** I'll be patiently waiting for someone to come back early saying "I hit one"!!

Also the smell of the northern Minnesota woods, don't get much better then that.

Just one week RB? I took the last week of Oct and the first two weeks of Nov. I usually take the whole month of Nov but had to use a week in March for Jamaica trip with the wife. She is not a hunter so she does not understand why I take so much vacation during hunting season. LOL

Hunting the family land in WI. Haven't hunted here, other than a little late season, since 2001. Been trying to put a lot of work into it this year and hopefully it pays off. Either way, it will be good to be close to home and the family.

Just took up Traditional Archery so I am looking forward to the opportunity to stick a deer or hog with the recurve.

First, in Sept - Gotta say that first bugle in the mountains...

Then back in IL - taking my kids bowhunting. I've always taken them once or twice and sat in a brushed in ground blind, but now oldest two getting old enough that want to try a new "buddy" treestand we picked up this year...nothing better then seeing kids enjoying all the outdoors have to offer.

Just the peace and quiet that goes with bow hunting before the woods light up with slug guns and high-powered rifles. It is the only time of the year that my managment tells me that I am not stressed out so I know hunting is the best possible "therapy" for me. Plus, I really enjoy the planning that goes with a fresh season. Where am I going to hang stands and cameras? What clothing should I wear....how many layers? What dates should I take off to hunt "x" property/public lands to increase my odds of seeing and possibly harvesting a mature deer? Ahhhhhh, only 51 short days until the WI bow opener...

Introducing my 8 year old daughter to hunting. Granted it will be gun hunting, but that will be a high light for sure.
As for myself, I'm looking forward to an encounter with the one that got away, hopefully!

Being in the stand and everything that comes with it. All the highs and lows that come with bowhunting is what keeps me coming back :D

I honestly have to say I'm looking most forward to EVERYTHING. Getting big bucks on camera again, the smell and feel of fall and the rut coming, hunting with family and friends, etc.

That first snap of a twig as a deer approaches, the first close encounter, the first time I see bones... I can go on and on and on. I just love bowhunting!
