I really do not get excited until I stand up on a deer that I wish too shoot. Being a buck or a doe. When a good one comes into view. Well, I start feeling that heart beat. Is it deer season yet?!

Some of your guys posts reminded me.

A big ol gobbler sounding off 50 yds away & knowing he's coming in to me is extremely exciting.

The first couple sits at the beginning of the year all it takes is a twig snapping to make my heart jump up to my throat. Most of the time it's squirrels but that one time when I look and see a deer I can't help but grin from ear to ear.

    For me...

It's when I'm drawn back on any buck over 150"...right as my pin is settling low in the cavity right behind the leg crease...then...BEEP, BEEP...D@mn alarm clock - time to get to work!:)

That's the first thing I thought.

I see a deer, and I start getting excited. The moment that goes away I'm done hunting.

When I see a deer that I want to shoot.. and it looks like it might possibly come into range. Seeing a 150" buck walking by at 50 yards really doesn't excite me nearly as much as a doe fawn that I need for my earn-a-buck deer when it gets within 30 yards.

Any deer I see in the woods makes me skip a beat. That's why I love hunting...it doesn't take much and I hope I never get to the point that it does. If it does then I've got some awesome hunting ground and seeing large mature bucks is the norm or I've became tired of my passion.

For bucks 120 and above, wait no, anything outside the ears and some tine length and mass;)

It depands, I promise my grandfather a deer this year, I shot him a doe fawn the first not out, I was pretty pumped to call him and tell him I was on my way.

I enjoying see all deer, but I only get excited on the ones I am going to shoot. It's after the shot is when I get pumped up.

That first "deer" of the year, when I'm on stand. ( I actually shot the first one I seen this year ) it was a doe. Luckily I got to watch them a while..

After that, all bucks get me excited... I watched a 7 and a 4 pt spar not 6 yards from my tree, never lifted my bow off the hook. Exciting, none the less!

As for bone jarring excitement my analysis goes like this.. Deer...Buck...Nice Buck...Holy Sh*t

The last 2 gets me going. Haven't shot the holy sh*t yet but have several "nice bucks".
