I have actually seen tires fall off jeeps because they werent screwed in, I myself am guilty of not tightening down my lug nuts, fortunately someone caught it.

Flexing arrows, is that basically bending them a little bit and checking for sound or something visible?

For that reason, shooters should be wearing gloves... and helmets...

Just the thought gives me chills

a helmet is a little more obtrusive than wearing some small knuckle gloves

Wasn't one of those pictures the result of someone drawing an arrow that was too short?

No, not those pics. These are from arrows breaking upon release, which is why you see all of the carbon fibers. The one with the too short arrow was actually not as bad as these. Google image search "arrow through hand" and you'll see a few others as well.

Correct. If the arrow is broken or cracked you'll hear it when you flex.

I wear thin gloves most of the time with a hand muff for when it gets colder. When it's really cold, I will wear a heavy glove. I did practice with it on and have seen not adverse effect to my groups.

And I NEVER worry about an arrow blowing up on me. Of course, I'm 20 years behind the times and still shoot aluminum!
