"There is no greater high than making a decision to come to full draw on animal and let loose an arrow" Amen.
what others have said...and also that moment when I slip somewhere between sleep and awake, almost dreaming, yet still able to hear every rustle of the leaves, branch cracking, or footfall. And I also like a bloodtrail - even if it isn't mine. I just love tracking deer.
1. The queitness and beauty of early fall 2. The challenge of getting close, undetected 3. The shot, not just pointing a rifle and pulling the trigger. we as bowhunters really need to concentrate and be very aware of every movement, sound, scent etc!
1. The quietness of the bow (doesn't spook other game in the area) 2. The long season ( from Sept.-Jan. in KY) 3. The fact that most people don't bowhunt so I usually have the woods to myself during early season..
The silent pursuit of one of gods finest game animals The intamacy that is required in archery hunting of your quarry And the absolute rush of uncontrilable shakes when you seal the deal Nothing even comes close to it IMO
1. The challenge. You have to be in close, go undetected, and make an accurate shot. 2. The peacefulness of being in the woods. 3. The planning and preparation. Stand placement, cutting trails and shooting lanes, practice time with the bow, the camaraderie with other bowhunters, trail cams, etc. Basically everything about bowhunting.
Time away from it........It could be everything or one thing in my case. Time with my family that enjoy the outdoors.
1. Being in a tree and watching the woods wakeup. 2. The challenge of it. I learn something new every year. 3. All the preparation that goes into it.(Shed hunting, Scouting, Mineral Sites, Trail cameras, Hanging stands and on and on) If I had to sum all of them up, BOW SEASON NEVER ENDS!!
Stress Relief. A time to decompress while enjoying nature as just a silent witness to the glory of God's creation.
That moment... when the noise you thought heard or the slight motion you thought you saw materializes into a deer after a few hundred false alarms. That is a rush for me every time.
