I have way too many to list. I have a core list of animals, but it keeps growing. Although I gun hunt, I really have no desire to chase any "dream" animals with anything but a bow. I won't include elk, antelope, or mule deer, because I can realistically see chasing them in a few years. My #1 dream hunt of all time would be a Northwest Territories Dall Sheep/Mountain Caribou hunt. Something about that area makes me crave going there. A close 2nd would be New Zealand for Tahr and Chamois. Notable mentions would be a drop camp for Barren Ground 'Bou in Alaska, and also going after Woodlands in Newfouland would be awesome. A float for Yukon Moose sounds like an awesome adventure. Browns or Grizzlies would be a rush, but I'd probably piss myself with one in range, but I'd jump for the chance. Prince of Wales Black Bear, and Kodiak Blacktails are also on the list. I just realized I probably need to start applying for jobs in Alaska....
That island is 3x the size of the state of Rhode Island. Haha crazy how much bigger everything is up there.
My dream hunt is Wyoming elk this September. Looks like a few of you plan to hunt red stags in New Zealand. That's great to hear. The key thing to know is that public and private land hunting is very different here. Public land is freely available to all with no real restrictions e.g. no tags, any weapon, no game management and a lot of average heads but a few big heads. Private land is usually easy hunting and highly managed to cater for high paying customers, huge stag heads are available for a price. Not saying one is better than the other but most kiwis enjoy public land hunting and a dedicated few get great public land heads.
