No wall hangers but they were fun to catch. Both went back in the water immediately after the picture was taken.
You guys posting the pike/musky/walleye pictures are making me quite jealous. Very few waters in southern Indiana hold those species of fish.
My best brook trout... just under 20" and a little over 3.5lbs My best brown trout... 24" My best largemouth.... didn't measure or weigh but she had already spawned and was pretty thin. My best rainbow... pics don't do it justice... never measured. Best smallmouth... never measured And my best carp... never measured.. I'll have to try to find pictures of a 44" musky I caught on a 5'6" ultralight while fishing for bass at Lake Arthur.
Guys, I went fishing yesterday on the Alabama River. The water is high and swift so I was fishing in some flooded backwater. I saw a 6-7 foot Alligator Gar swim by slowly at about 10 yards. It was absolutely massive. The tail had to be more than a foot wide. Wow!!! What a sight. No pics sadly
My biggest fish was a blue cat 87lbs.. Best bluegill was 2 lbs 6 ozs...caught on a black jitterbug when I was bass fishing. Best crappie was 3 lbs 8 ozs....caught on a red shad culprit worm when I was bass fishing. Best Largemouth was 9 lbs 7 ozs....caught on a buzzbait around mid-night.
Just so happened to catch one of my top 3 smallmouth this afternoon. I believe its my biggest but i don't have exact measurements. I know it was over 20" and 3 lbs+ so I consider that a good day.
Your not only a great whitetail hunter but a damn good fisherman too!!! Well done Josh!! I myslef had a good afternoon of fishing with my daughter. We caught 14 sunnys and 14 crappies. A few of the crappies measured 12 Inches.
My biggest on rod an reel is a 48lb blue. On a trot line I have caught several flat heads over the 80lb mark. Biggest crappie 3.2 lbs Biggest largemouth 8.7 lbs Biggest small mouth 5 inches long we don't have very many around here.
I have pics of them all siman, next time go out to my moms I'll see if she can find them. I did a lot of snagging and bass fishing years ago.
This is my biggest fish on a fly rod not sure of the weight because we released it right away. My biggest fish was a 48lb flathead on 10lb test in 7ft of water on a crank bait.
only saltwater for me, but havent fished in about 3 years as my dad passed and i just cant seem to find the motivation to go back out without him.. Not a fan of the freshwater fishing. Striper i have mounted was 42 1/2" and almost 28 lbs. Caught it with my grandpa and dad when i was 10 and was the first "big fish" i caught. Since then caught a handful of fish in the 40+" range with the biggest being 36 lbs. And also cobia in the 40" range.
Saratoga which gets pounded locally. It's only 3700 acres and has 4-5 tourneys a week on it. Usually 15lbs will win it and 12 will be in the $$$, so it's not known as a big fish lake. I also caught a 6-12 out of Champlain while prefishing last summer which as you know also gets pounded on by some of the best in the country.
Not sure how big this King Salmon was but he was bigger than the 16lber I caught and released earlier in the day on the fly rod. The gar was also caught on the fly rod and weighed right at 20 lbs. Other fly rod fish are: 6 lb striper, 7 lb hybrid striper, 4 lb smallmouth and 7 lb blue fish. Biggest on spinning gear are 10 lb rainbow, 16lb lake trout, 9 lb walley, 30 lb blue cat and 125 lb alligator gar.
Yeah I hear Saratoga is decent but not known for big fish for sure. Thats awesome man! I havent fished it myself yet. And 6-12 on champ is sick also! Ive caught a few 5s up there, and a 4-14 smallie in a BFL, but def nothing over 6, let alone almost pushing 7!
