Well the time has arrived where the bucks are chasing or on the moving searching for those hot does. You're either in the right place or you're 100 yards from all the activity. --What's your favorite stand to hunt during this time? --What kind of terrain is it located on and why do you prefer it? --Also, what kind of success have you had from that stand?
Pinch point between doe bedding area and a food source, or a pinch point between multiple bedding areas is even better! Food drives a doe to go where it wants to go -- a buck may only be steps behind her this time of year...
Best rut sight I have is an east west saddle with doe bedding areas on both hills, a major feeding area two hundred yards below to the south. I have Three trees cleared that I could hunt it in any wind....when bucks are cruising its a sure bet for multi buck sighting though out the day. Honestly it's a dandy stand site about any time of the year
My favorite rut stand is the one I have been failing at miserably this year. I thought it was the logging of the neighboring land, mentioned it to my uncle tonight and he thinks its the tall thick overgrowth between me and the bedding area. We'll see, only killed one good buck out of it but see many every year.
My favorite stand locations prior to lockdown are buck cruising trails used by bucks to scent check doe bedding areas. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
