I've spent a few evenings glassing my usual haunts the past week. I've noticed a few things so far.

*A lot of small bucks everywhere. Mostly spikes and forks, been averaging nearly a buck for every doe seen. Small sample size I know, but still....seems odd to me.

    * Very few fawns. I've seen 2 fawns this year and one was in my front yard.:tu:

    * Does in bunches in some areas that always hold deer, nearly non existant in other areas that I glass. Not sure what to think of this.

    * Only glassed one mature buck, he looks to be a 4 year old. I'm sure my sightings will pick up on that as the summer goes on.

The buck sightings have me intrigued. Is it QDM letting the young guys grow, or just all of last years standing corn saved many a buttonbuck?? My friends that live in the area are bummed about seeing so many lil guys, I'm pretty pumped about it. Hope a few make it a couple more years.:)
