haha let me say I'd for sure be in my stand when that polar bear followed by a good lion cross my shooting lane
Just about 12 miles from my house.... The owner was definitely a little different!!! Should be easy enough to get them all back, just set out some steaks and wait for them to come in. They're caged animals, they're not likely to do well hunting in the wild, but offer up a freeby, and they should be easy to be trapped or tranqued.
I thought it was kind of silly going in and blasting them to kingdom come from the sounds of the report. Dart guns would have put several of them down just as easily and they could have gone to a zoo elsewhere. What a whack job though! Best believe I'd be taking to the deer woods ASAP if I lived near....how many guys you know kill a cheetah and tiger with their bow?! lol
More than a few REDNECKS in these parts, police included, and in the overall realm, in the absence of an effective otherwise method of containing or controlling them, I don't think it's that far off base.
Yeah if I lived in that area I'd definitely be in stand with my bow (and high powered rifle, and 357 mag). That would be pretty sweet to shoot a cheeta in east central ohio.
After reading the article, Its almost like a horror movie. Motorists see exotic animals running around, police go to the farm and find the owner dead with carnivores circling the body. I like the police officers methods, shoot shoot shoot. Animals like that are not domesticated or meant to be kept as pets. Very interesting story.
Oh I agree, but it sounded somewhat excessive to show up with what was it 25 or 35 of the animals still on the farm and just go through dropping every one of them as the zoo people are standing on the sidelines probably foaming at the mouth for a chance to tranq and keep the animals alive. I can see shooting on site any animals actually tracked down and found and stuff, just didn't understand shooting all the ones still on the farm. Either way it's scary a nut job like this guy can have possession of so many of these type of animals in the first place! A guy a few miles down the road from where I lived owned a lion in his backyard. Thing was HUGE! I always wondered would happen if it got out.
Although I agree with you, somewhat, I think it would have been nearly impossible to tranq them. EVERY animal is going to need a specific dose, not just a general "here ya go!" dart. In the direness of the situation I agree with the shoot-to-kill order. One bear actually attacked an officer, so the reports said. They were pen raised but still posses the prowess to kill.
Screw the tranq's, just take em all out and go to Chuck Testa to mount your trophy! dangerous game indeed..
They've got them all except a Mountain Lion, Grizzly, and a Monkey... http://www.centurylink.net/news/read.php?rip_id=<[email protected]>&ps=1011
so your just sitting in school, and a lion walks into your class room. I would be bringing my guns to school that week..
