you puke on stand! Woke up this morning and felt like crud. Figured I'd be feeling better once I got up and moving around. Took my shower got my stuff ready and seemed like it was getting worse. Dizzy, cold sweat, aches, felt sick to my stomach etc....

So, I jumped in my truck and headed out . Figured I'd just go to one of the "close" stands because I really didn't feel like walking anywhere and I could leave early if I had to. So, I head to one of the farthest stands on my land ;) because the wind was good and I had one of those vibes. Just about had to lift my legs to make them walk to my stand. Don't even really remember walking there. Get up in my stand and clunk my head against the tree lean back and shut my eyes until light. The whole world was spinning and my body started shaking.

Wake up at first light and wonder what the hell I'm doing out here. Lean forward and put my head in my hands and the Earth below me is fuzzy and spinning. I tell myself I'll stick it out until 9 or so. Sat back up and down the happy trail comes a little 6 pointer. He works a scrape about 20 yards away and meanders away. 30 minutes later 2 does come in (one really big mature doe).

I have no problem with taking a doe or two out of this area I'm hunting until Nov. And this was a good one to take. But.......... I had no inclination of reaching my hand up to grab my bow. And thoughts of gutting, dragging, hanging, butchering came in my head and I laughed to myself. No way! After they cleared my stomach started going nuts and I hurled from 20 feet in a tree. Good scent control :(.

At that point I figured that was probably enough for the morning. Packed my stuff up and headed back. Sat down a couple times on the way back. I may or may not have slept for awhile. Anyway that's my story. Wish there was a better ending, but that's it lol. Some thera flu, chicken noodle soup and some sleep is in order. Hopefully feel better by the time the afternoon hunt gets here.

    Wow... get better soon.

H1N1 is really going around here in IL. I hope I don't catch it until after the rut.
(well, actually I hope that I never catch it, but if I do, I catch it after the rut and it doesn't bother me at all) :D

Yikes. No way I would have even made it that far in that condition. Get some rest, and don't get worn down.

Sorry to hear youre not feeling well but it goes to show your dedication as a true hunter. Im lucky enough to have been feeling pretty damned good this year so far but we all know how quick that can change. The swine is pretty scary stuff. Hope ya get better and get back out there.

You're more dedicated than I am in that condition. At least the sickness went north, if you catch my drift. Take it easy, get well, get back out there.
