These guys have taken up residence on my mineral lick the past week and a half. My deer pics fell off to nothing since I got the first pictures of them. I have a feeling there are gonna be some dead yotes real soon!
I have a bunch of coyotes in my area too. They haven't camped out on my mineral site though and my buck pics have also dropped off in the last couple of weeks. For me this is normal for this time of the season. I'm going to try to shoot the coyotes after the season....... if I see them while hunting too!
I hate those dumb dogs... mangy beasts. Kill almost all of them! We need to keep some around for a healthy ecosystem, but over all they can just die.
I too have been having problems with larger than normal coyote problems. They are getting ballsy also...two encounters with them in the past week in person during mid day. If one of them comes past the bow stand...they will be getting an arrow or two slung at them...that I can promise you!
Am i the only one who thinks yotes are beautiful? Being a deer hunter i hate them but i think they are a very photogenic animal. cant wait to get one with the bow and mount it!
Last year I had a pack of yotes on a bench below me right at dark in the early bow season. They were yowling and yipping, and coming closer by the sound of it. It was intense to say the least. Evidently they could smell my scent bomb and they were circling the troops for a what they though was going to be dinner. That is until one of them met the business end of my arrow! Over the years I have shot quite a few with my bow and gun while deer hunting. The first one I ever took with a bow was turned into a rug. Last year we had a trapper come in after deer season was out and he ended up catching 47 off our 5 farm properties.
That is a few dogs. I hoped it help your deer numbers. The coyotes here hammer the fawns and calves. We also have a bounty for them.
I've got one or two on a few of the properties I hunt. We don't have any major issues like some of you guys. There's a reservoir that I ice fish and camp on that come night time you can hear the coyotes like clock work though. Its nice to sit around the fire at night and hear them.
