Anyone have any info on these recurves? I can't seem to find any good information on it. I found it in my basement.. My dad said he found it at a garage sale. It's 45#, but that's all I know right now. It doesn't have a string on it, and hasn't since my dad bought it. I'd like to get a string on it and start shooting, but I'd like to learn a little about the bow.

    Thanks,
    Rory

Never heard of It before Rory. All I could find was a compound named a York Tracker. No picture of It though.

Well here's what's written on the bow:

    248-F
    AMO-58"
    45#

    I'm guessing I need a 58" string?

    Here are some pictures.

Rory, no you don't need a 58" string. On a recurve your string should be about 4 inches shorter, a longbow 3 inches shorter than the bow. Nice bow now get a string for her and have some fun!

It looks to be a real nice bow! [IMG] It looks very similar to a Bear K-Mag.

VA Bowbender: Thanks, just what I was lookin' for! My dad said that the guy he got it from said it was custom made... I'm guessing that's why mine says 58" and that webpage says 56"?

    Again, thanks a bunch!

    Rory,
I don't want to burst your bubble but it wasn't custom made.
York made those bows for several year in different sizes. If you scroll through the sight I attached you'll find it a couple of times. In a 60" and a 58" as well as a 56".

Tracker, No. MPH, 1977, 58 inches

    Recurve

    Weights 40, 45, 50 and 55 lbs

    Dark glass

    Brace height 8 1/2 inches

    Price ?

Lol.. Not bursting my bubble at all. I could care less if it's custom made or not, I just want a trad. bow that I feel confident I can kill a deer with :d. Thanks again, EXACTLY what I was looking for!

York was a bow maker that went under years ago. They were based out of Independence Missouri. I have one of their compound bows that I shot for a few years that I got really cheap from a guy at work. Killed some nice deer with it.

Great bow though Rory, looks quite similar to my Kodiak Mag, like VA said.

Have fun and make sure you check her over real good for limb twist or any splinters. Dont want your new toy fallin apart on ya!

Rory, if you can't find a string I'll make you one. You can buy them from 3Rivers, just order a 58" AMO string. You can use endless loop or flemish twist. Just don't get anyother material other than Dacron B-50.
