Looking at the extended weather report, it appears that Sunday through Thursday won't be any fun around here for people that hate the heat (me).

About this time of year annually I get a reminder why I live where I live.

While people in the south may not think it's hot, I'll pretty much be in shutdown mode as I don't function in the heat very well. The heat combined with the high humidity is enough to make a person go insane. They are talking dew points in the 80's in some areas.

    90s? Heat wave? SERIOUSLY?!?

    HA!

You remind me of a phone converation I had with one of my best friends middle of last week... he had to go to Michigan for a cousin's wedding. I texted him "How's the weather up there?" and he replied: "Mid-80s... NO humidity, and they think it's hot! :)"

Yeah, people are freaking out about 6-7 days in the low 90's here. I find it amusing.

And I am definitely one of them. :sheep:

You have the forest to keep you cool Dan. All I have is farm fields.

It always feels cooler when you head to the big woods in weather like that.

LOL! I live in a subdivision and have 6 trees in the yard and not one of them is more than 12' tall. Behind me (south facing) there are no trees and a field. Plus, the dumb ass that built my house put in too small of an AC system.

Your friend was obviously lying. There is no such thing as no humidity in Michigan. We call 80% humidity, "low".

:o............ You are simply tougher than me Dan. :)

We have a two story with the B-rooms upstairs. I have the cold air returns blocked off downstairs so it draws 100% from the upstairs and it still gets warm up there.

I may very well be sleeping downstairs a couple of those nights.

I hate the freaking heat! If dew points are in.the 80s and it feels like it's 110 i don't care where you live, that's hot. Luckily my boss just informed me we have 3 plumbing finishes next week that means i'll be inside :)....better than rough ins that's for sure.

Just another summer to us. I will be checking cameras and hanging stands in that weather. Hope to get in some shooting as well.

    Pansies.

We've had like 456 consecutive days in triple digits.

Yeah, but you wear a sweater when it dips into double digits.

Okay, so in the South, you guys might drop down to 50 degrees in the winter, while in the summer you can get above 100 degrees. Giving you a temperature range around 50-60 degrees.

In the North, we get temperatures of -20 degrees (or lower) in the winter and have days above 100 degrees as well. This means our temperature range is around 120 degrees.

If anything, you guys seem like the pansies to me.

 We get down in the 20s and teens quite often actually.

But you're right, we don't get any real brutal cold.

I do, however, enjoy the cold much more than the heat. I really have no idea why I live down here.

I really hope this turns into a south vs north thread. I always enjoy those.

It was 42 yesterday AM.... Sunday's high is 92.... ahh, Ely.

I'll take -35 over 100 anyday. I can always add clothes, but I can only take off so many (this is a family resort after all :) )

We get well below 50 here. Single digits and teens are not that rare. Brutally cold, nothing compared to up north, but still cold. And I'm with Hooker, cold is much better.
