I disapprove of blowing up coolers, but I will defend to the death your right to blow up coolers. -Tallentyre (Evelyn Beatrice Hall)
Any organization that relies on fear mongering to gain support is not worth our time or effort. We take our shoes off at airports and tolerate unconstitutional eavesdropping because of fear exploited after 9-11. My dislike of Trump is that I think he is an incompetent panderer, philanderer and fraud, not because I fear his political ideology. My dislike of the democrats is because they refuse to recognize that firearms and school shootings cause far fewer deaths and injuries than teens texting while driving or driving under the influence, but they are making no moves to address a far bigger problem. I can't support the NRA because all the politicians they donate to give lip service to protecting my rights while trying to sell the public lands where I exercise those rights out from under my feet. I support the RMEF because they have a mission and while they point out discernible actions that are harmful to conservation and hunting they don't tell me that my vote for this side or the other is going to make the world as we know it disappear. I support the TRCP because they stay on message and point out positive things I can do personally to protect my interests. I stopped supporting BHA because as I saw it they were driving wedges between sportsmen over motorized versus non-motorized access on Montana rivers to solve a problem that could be addressed by people just using common courtesy. I learned a long time ago that for most people perception is reality. If the vast majority of the public views the NRA membership as a bunch of people jumping up and down on the graves of teen agers so they can keep the right to own automatic weapons it negatively impacts their ability to advocate for the second amendment. I know that the media works overtime to paint that picture, but when the NRA does a campaign with Dana Loesch warning about how "they" are coming to destroy your way of life, they are playing into the hands of the opposition. And just because I don't want to eat, breathe, or drink in more pollution so that multi-billion dollar corporations can earn higher profits does not make me a left wing nut job who wants to infect you with the "gay" or force you to marry someone of your own gender. If people are not willing to sit down and honestly talk about facts, talking louder is not going to change that. There are some who will never believe that guns don't automatically put their owners into a homicidal rage that forces them to convert their revolvers int full automatic assault rifles, or that passing laws makes those who won't 0bey the laws suddenly compliant. They are not the audience. It is the people who want to make informed decisions that don't have all the information they need that we need to convince. The lunatic fringes are never going to accept a logical argument.
Does the NRA think they deserve special rights with all sorts of businesses? Get over yourselves nra. Good lord. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
You consider what they say fear mongering? It is indisputable that there are those that are in very high political positions that wish to limit our freedoms, specifically abolishing or otherwise limiting our right to bear arms. If Hillary Clinton would have won we would be seeing an attack from her and a left leaning Supreme court right now. (On a side note, it is unfortunate that a judges election is based upon whether they will push that President's political agenda or not, the Judicial branch is very perverted) So when the NRA raises concern about what they consider a legitimate issue and ask like minded people to support them they are just a bunch of fear mongerers? I don't think so.
This looks like "fear mongering" akin to the NRA's to me, Germ. https://www.nssf.org/retired-supreme-court-justice-calls-for-second-amendment-repeal/
I was merely pointing out that all organizations tend to amplify the actions of those with opposing views as a recruiting method.
They say that their is no such thing as bad publicity and after the last two days of hearing nothing but Yeti, Yeti, Yeti and all the promotion from everybody on both sides of the argument, I can say it's a true statement. I never realized just how much people care about their beloved NRA or their Yeti cooler like it really makes a difference in the grand scheme of life.
Keeping beer cold is a pretty big priority ha. What'll be even more funny when the nra and its members realize they didn't effect yeti at all once they get picked up by all the orginizations that oppose the NRA. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Yeah this whole thing is a cluster. I did a video about it. I don’t have a yeti and don’t have a position on who’s honest or not. There’s just not enough info to say what’s going on. Anyway, here’s the video https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10155531005831365 Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
respectfully disagree w/ the last part. If the NRA's version of the facts wins out amongst it's ~6mil members' + all the word of mouth to their friends and family; I'm going to have to predict it hits Yeti fairly hard. NRA is pretty adept at strongarming like-minded people and organizations. IIRC, Ruger took a beating back in the 90s for supporting the AWB. Almost put them under.
That's assuming all 6 mil members plus family and friends will stop buying. Also forgets the fact that gun owners are a minority. What other company or candidate or anything the NRA is against has went belly up in recent? There's just as many numbers in orginizations opposite the NRA, why else would they even excist? Or why are 2nd amendment right still a issue if there's that much pull? The NRA isn't the most popular hing right now, member and gun owners are turning thier backs on their influence. I predict in a month or when they call out the next company nobody will care. The attention span of the masses only last as long as the next "it" thing tp be upset about comes up. And thats not very long Time will tell, initially there may be drops but they were already somewhat dropping before any of this. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
From my experience, the NRA is losing ground amongst the under 40 age category that is Pro 2A. I know many people my age who own guns that will not join the NRA. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If the NRA wins this battle and puts the hurt on yeti, what company in its right mind would want to partner with them? Partner with the NRA, get crossways with them, file bankruptcy. Sounds like a solid business plan to me.
BTW, anyone who now hates their Yetis, PM me. I’m buying. Already picked up 3 already at bargain basement prices.
