I got to spend a ton of time in the woods over the course of the long MN bow season this year. On a couple of occasions, one of my best friends was able to come up and hunt. I introduced him to hunting about 4 years ago, and he's hooked. Not only because of his first deer harvest ever (a bow doe this Oct.) but because he too spent many hours outdoors.

On one of our hunts we got an extra sweet taste of nature when a Pine Marten came through our stand site. Not only was it fun to watch, but he gave us a little extra excitement in the tree...

These were taken from the video I was shooting. He got about 18" from the bottom of my boots! After he got down, he came up the other side of the tree for a second look.

Anyways, you don't get that kind of experience sitting on the couch.:deer:

Wow that is neat. Got to love what mother nature has for us. The only thing i ever see from the couch is an occasional dust bunny :d
