what Ted Nugent did to get out of serving his country. Today I took out my Nugent LP's and used them as clay pigeons. I will never watch or listen to that hypocritcal #$@ again.

I have heard alot on this subject as he is either a cult hero or bashed heavily on another site we all know about. Can you and others please elaborate? I am not trying to start anything, i am very pro american anything and I am nothing more than curious. I like topics such as this on here because we get alot of different viewpoints, and opinions with some facts thrown in for good measure.

Just Google Detroit Free Press Ted Nugent Military Record and you can read the interview. According to the Free Press, before reporting to the draft board he stopped using personal hygene and represented himself as a Section 8 to get out of being drafted.

Ted is all about Ted. Always has been, always will be. I am friends with a guy that toured with Nuge in the late 70's/early 80's. He could go on for hours with ted stories, none of them very positive.

We often hear the arguement that he's the best voice we have for hunting/gun owners rights. If Ted is the best we can do, we aren't in very good shape IMO.

From the uneducated and uninformed point of view, even if he did that back then (he might view that as a mistake now) he sure seems to do a lot to support the troops. Maybe he is trying to make amends?
