As long as it doesn't open a flood gate of gun kill pics and threads. I can understand Pops being proud of kids deer and all but after all, this is a bowhunting forum. Someone said "Hunting is Hunting". To that I say the name of this site is Bowhunting.com, not Hunting.com. Like I said I have no problem with Pop's being proud and don't mind an occaisional thread about someones kid taking a deer with a gun. Am I a prude, maybe, but I still like you Tony so post it up.

I agree! I guess there is no way in stating your opinion on this without it coming across wrong. Especially when a kid is thrown into the equation for the sake of driving home the point more. I still agree that this is Bowhunting.com. I come here 100% for bowhunting discussion. Could care less about anything to do with gun hunting. Not anti gun, don't look down on gun hunters or think bowhunters are better etc.... I just don't happen to like that form of hunting for ME. I will support all types of hunters to the day I die though.

That being said ... an occasional gun kill by someone that everyone here knows? I don't know guess. But when/if it turns into 10...20...30 a week isn't really bowhunting.com anymore. By no means does a gun kill thread ruffle my feathers or ruin my day. Matter of fact I really don't give it much of a thought. I usually just close it and move to the next thread. But I just thought I'd offer my 2 cents now that it's been brought up.

What's the skinny on youth out of state licenses there, Chris? I would love to, but funds are getting short ... if they are reasonable, I am there .... does the antler restriction apply to youth?

No they don't T. (AR's) I am unsure of the cost. If you are buying the license and schedule a trip for one day with MUD, we may be able to get some more use out of that youth tag on one of the Saturdays.....we will talk more when you come to Rob's. I have a banger of a spike that I'd like to see Andrew behind and if things go right for my brother in Archery season that stand will be lonely in Rifle.

    Any Jr and State

    MI 1 tag 7.50 for a JR
    Combo tag 15.00(shoot two bucks)
    Small game 1.00

So for 16 dollars Jr can shoot 2 deer and all the small game he wants in MI

How does PA expect to bring in more hunters with prices like that, holy cow

Makes no difference to me and I am new here. The site is named bowhunting.com so that should keep it pretty much bowhunting by design. If I had to post a gun deer or something else I would do it in the water cooler forum which seems like a nice place to put something other than bow hunting.

Wow, that's cheap. Wish I lived closer, I'd be up. I am not sure but I think it costs more for me to got to NY than it does for NY to come to me. PT, RJ anyone? I swear a buddy of mine who hunts NY solely because he can hunt Sundays, pays like 125 bucks or something for the whole shooitn match.

If I wanted to hunt Maryland as a non-res. It would be $180 for license w/ muzzle loader and archery tags. And if you want to hunt archery durning M.L. season you need a M.L. tag. My brother does this, but I just can't see spending that much, plus my PA license. And I live about 5 miles from the state line, and my grandmother has a 200+ acre farm in MD 20 min. away.

That would be enough for me to throw 20 bucks a month in a jar for the 9 months that I wouldn't be hunting the heck out of that farm.:)

NY as a resident is $88 for the Super Sportsman license, which includes all my tags. Not sure about non resident tags.

As a non resident for PA, it's $126 for my license and archery stamp, plus I believe it was $26 for each doe tag (I got 2).

No AR does not apply to anyone under 16 (Jr License). 3in spikes are legal game for him

About 4-5 years ago, this would have been the case, but not now.

I have 2 younger cousins that live right above her farm and lets just say they don't practice QDM! They get crop damage permits and use them vigorusly. Basically if they feel like fresh back straps, they grab the 30-06 and head for the back field around dusk. If there was any nice bucks hanging around the property, they will be long gone till I get out there. We "lovingly" call them the "Gut Gang"!

I could take a few does off there if I wanted, but I can do that here, and for a lot less $.

    well said...

That is why I volunteer at a youth hunting clinic every year that a buddy of mine runs.. We are now a non-profit and have a lot of sponsors (Whitetail Institute, Duke Energy, etc..) so things are looking up. When it comes to kids and hunting, any type of hunting is a positive thing. I mean who really cares about a kid behind a gunkill on a bowhunting forum?? I mean, it is an INTERNET FORUM. Everyone has a real life with real issues to deal with everyday. It is a friggin forum in cyberspace lol. Who cares.

    PT,

You would have had to purchase the doe tags for andrew back in July/August

    Ben,
Does your WMU have any doe tags left OVER, then PT could purchase a doe tag for Andrew for $26.50(Cost?) at the Court House (Co treasuer)!!!!!!! ( On top of the $41.50 Hunting LIc)

    :D

Nah....I believe there is three areas that have doe tags left. Two of them are in the southwest corner and one in the southeastern
